Subwoofer Footing - Connect or Isolate? Speakers and subwoofers like to be solidly mounted to add structure to the enclosure, they do not like to be in micro motion. The ONLY reason you would ever want to iso mount a speaker or subwoofer is if the energy of the speaker is transfering in...
To Harbeth or not to Harbeth, That is the question... Harbeth C7ES3, had them for about 3 years, when fully broken in they were rich sounding without losing too much detail. often magical sounding. SHL5+ for about a year, perfect for me. Sensitive to toe in. More transparent and neutral but still...
KEF Blade -- how good are they? I liked what I heard from the Blades on two different occasions --blown away by their sound stage and sheer power over the room.-did not care for their overall tone which was an odd mixture of warmth and coolness. lots of midbass warmth yet at th...
What tubes are in you Rogue RP-5? i had an RP7 and tried a whole drawers worth of different 12AU7s that i had on hand from my old cronus magnum and RH5 preamp. it simply did not sound any better and often worse than the stock JJ. this included brimar, amperex, mazda, philips, sy...
Amp recommendations for Spendor The D7.2 are not too big for your room, I had the D7 for a while in a similar room and they sounded fantastic. I used a Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum II tube integrated and would greatly recommend using a high powered tube amp with the Spendors. The S...
New speakers dilemma for vinyls... Heeelp! :))) Not a fan of the sound of the Focal Kanta and if you must McIntosh or Luxman Class A would be my amplifier of choice. I like the Klipsch Forte and Cornwall but do not love them because they have too much cabinet coloration that mucks up midrange v...
New speakers dilemma for vinyls... Heeelp! :))) @adversam no matter how you slice it you have a large room with an amp that clips at 80 watts / 8 ohms. An excellent amp but you will best be served with more efficient speakers. The Volti Razz is the best match according to your list in terms...
Cartridges for Rega Tables Hana are 16mm to the tip of the stylus. Dynavector 17DX3 is 15.8mm and an excellent sounding cartridge.
LYRA DELOS CARTRIDGE TOO BRIGHT, THIN AND SHRILL SOUNDING something is drastically wrong. the Delos is an exceptional sounding cartridge and is not at all bright or shrill.if you tried loading at 200 ohms, make sure the VTF is dead on 1.75 grams and your headshell is perfectly level to the platter when ...
New speakers dilemma for vinyls... Heeelp! :))) did you listen to those speakers with your amp? the XA25 is not a powerhouse for bass. Most of the speakers you mentioned are not a good match for your amplifier, especially if bass is your priority. Give the Volti Razz a listen, very good sens...
100 watts enough? you should be fine with your limited listening levels and expectations but your speakers with dual 12" woofers deserve so much more and would reward you immensely.
Stacking gear no more rack space does it affect sound quality sometimes you have to do what you have to do. electronics cases are stronger than you think. at the market you wouldn't put canned goods on top of bread so a little common sense stacking components goes a long way.make sure to never cover any ve...
Had Three Different Speaker Thoughts; Now A Fourth The Razz is a nice sounding dynamic speaker and will not be overkill for your room. Your amplifier complements them perfectly. They improve greatly over the current Klipsch Heritage sound because Volti has done an amazing job at controlling cabine...
Cartridges for Rega Tables OP if you are using a Lyra Kleos on a Rega arm without VTA spacers you are wasting it. The Rega cartridges are 14mm from base to stylus tip. Hana have some 16mm cartridges.
Cartridges for Rega Tables @racedoc it doesn't look like those Excalibur cartridges have the Rega three point mounting system or the 14mm height of Rega catridges. What about them is Rega specific? |
