High end bookshelf speakers for Small room I've heard everything mentioned except for TAD and Raidho and recommend the B&W 805 D4 or even the D3. Spooky realism and resolution. Lov' em.
JA Pulsars vs Harbeth 30.2 Pulsars with a pair of quality subwoofers would be an interesting way to go.
JA Pulsars vs Harbeth 30.2 the Revival Audio Atalante 5 sounded bass and midrange centric and did not have the resolution of the Pulsar. It does have a big bold sound that the Pulsar cannot compete with.
JA Pulsars vs Harbeth 30.2 @tjraubacher The Pulsars are amazing sounding speakers but to my ears not big enough. The 30.2 are also amazing sounding speakers and would be my recommendation to you- however based on what you are after- bass, vocal clarity etc. get the Harbe...
QLN Prestige 3 I have heard the QLNs twice and they are probably the most fatigue free speakers I have heard. Unfortunately to my ears they were significantly low on clarity, detail, presence and energy. Completely opposite from the Borresen X2 and Focal Sop...
Cartridge upgrade If the tonearm has VTA adjustability feel free to upgrade the cartridge which will be a noticeable sonic upgrade. I would cap the budget at ~2K which would include the incredible sounding Lyra Delos, above which there are severely diminishing r...
Anyone trying out the Rogue Audio Dragon power amp? Heard the newer DragoN mono blocs two years in a row at AXPONA audio show driving Magnepan speakers, of which the sound signature of the stereo model should be identical. The sound was powerful, smooth and very enjoyable each time. Hard to be...
Speakers on top of subwoofer not ideal and looks like a kludge but if you really enjoy the sound.... just make sure you have good iso dots under the speakers.
Borresen X3 vs Harbeth 40.2 -- my impressions @helomech i would be greatly interested in a detailed review and thread on shf if you will.
Integrated for Devore O/93 Don't sneer at a Rogue Audio Cronus MK iii, one of the best sounding integrated amps under $10,000.
Borresen X3 vs Harbeth 40.2 -- my impressions @helomech To me your second paragraph is good evidence in support of your first sentence. That’s because I suspect you’d be very surprised by how the Borresens compare to the Spendors or your previous SHL5s if you were to commit the same amount...
Is D for Dry? Class D... heard many SOTA amps and they are still dry and brash to my ears.
Borresen X3 vs Harbeth 40.2 -- my impressions Living with and working with a speaker long term in your room and system is the best way to evaluate them. In order to get there requires a leap of faith based on what you hear at auditions, audio shows, etc that they have potential to make you h...
Paradigm 120h vs Goldenear Reference @dep14 do you have any info about how to manually update any settings in ARC ? the dealer i visited was unclear.
Best speaker brands for transient response The Spendor D series are extremely fast speakers. I had the D7 and now the D7.2 and am amazed at the transient quickness. Read the Stereophile review of the D7. A jack of all trades speaker that has the quikness of horn speakers with the refine... |
