Recommendations for HDMI cables specifically for audio quality It just a different topology and type of cable. Its WAY better than the Blue Heaven & Heimdall 2, and the Wireworld Starlight and Platinum Starlight, and a host of ’Brits’ HDMI cables I had, i.e CHORD, QED. Atlas e.t.c Have you actually com...
Recommendations for HDMI cables specifically for audio quality I’ve been off this site for about 11 months because I kind of got "forum burned out", but I got a email reference that included my name. lol. That being said, anytime somebody says something like this, I have to bite my tongue on my response. T...
HDMI cable for I2S yes, there is a difference (that is if you are actually using a real i2s output board on the Oppo). I2S is the native PCM bit information for each channel. There are two separate channels that require two different connection. S/PDIF will take...
Anthem STR Power Amp vs Parasound JC5 @jdaniel - preamp was Krell S1200. Speakers were B&W 805 D3. @yyzsantabarbara - I had directly compared the Parasound with Emotiva XPR-1, Bryston 7b3 and Classe M300 monoblocks. Many other amps are not as dry/warm. I think the Krell XD co...
Anthem STR Power Amp vs Parasound JC5 ^^^^No it won't sound warm/dry at all ! How long you had one again? I had a pair of JC1s and an A21 for several months. They do indeed sound dry in comparison to other amps.
Hulu converted to 5.1 via DSP Hulu and Netflix commonly have only 2-channel audio for many shows. Just google "Dolby Pro Logic".
Higher amperage fuse for sound quality I have experienced this in source equipment. If the stock fuse is 500 mA or 1A, I will often bump this up to 2A, but that is as far as I will go. Fuses in amplifiers usually don’t see any benefit from increase since they are often already 6+ amps.
New Rotel Amp Vs Older Bryston, Krell, or McIntosh I could not say. That would be the decision of the design engineer from Rotel.
New Rotel Amp Vs Older Bryston, Krell, or McIntosh @shanafee you could have a point. I looked and the RB-1582 amp requires 1.9V on the RCA and 3V on the XLR inputs to reach full output. However, it seems the RC-1572 preamp has a very low gain output of 1V for RCA and 2V for XLR. This is very lo...
Anthem STR Power Amp vs Parasound JC5 The Antehm STR is going to be more neutral / transparent in comparison. the Parasound will have a slightly warm / dry sound.
New Rotel Amp Vs Older Bryston, Krell, or McIntosh McIntosh amps could sound very nice, but they are very laid back. Neutral sounding (not warm like the Rotel) but are very mild and laid back sounding. You might like it but it may also be not enough excitement/dynamics for your taste.
New Rotel Amp Vs Older Bryston, Krell, or McIntosh The gain on the Rotel amp is only 26.5 dB for RCA inputs and a very low 22.5 dB for the XLR. These are very low levels. The typical gain for amps is usually somewhere between 28 and 32 dB. This just means that you have to turn up the preamp mor...
What amplifier should I get.... With Class A amplifiers, your soundstage won't necessarily be "huge". Some Class A amps can add a lot of "depth" because of the thickness and weight of the sound, but they are generally warmer and slower sounding amps. I would look for a really...
My First DIY Power Cable rhodium or Platinum are among the worst metals for plating based on conductivity any other type of plating will degrade performance Making a decision on "sound" for rhodium based on conductivity is incorrect. The "conductivity" of the meta...
My First DIY Power Cable You can call it whatever you want "burn-in" / "break-in". It all means the same thing. Trying to talk down to someone because of your opinion on the "correct dictionary term" is not someone who I can respect. Additionally, rhodium can be the g... |
