musician aquarius r2r dac any good?
I had Musician Pegasus and of course when I wanted to upgrade one of the DACs I considered was Musician Aquarius.  The funny thing about Aquarius, yes, soundstage was better, separation was better, everything sounded more coherent but it did not ...
Has Anyone Compared the DAC On a Bluesound NODE 3rd Gen to a Separate DAC?
Instead of Pontus II you could also get Musician Pegasus which is basically almost the same as Pontus II. It was my previous DAC and it was a really competent DAC and nothing else came close at that price point.
DAC recommendation in 5 to 10K range
I have not heard the Terminator yet, but I have heard its clone Musician Aquarius (they are basically the same company), and the sound was what you have described. I have just concluded a one month search for a new DAC and tried the following: -...
Speakers for Michi X3?
I have not auditioned enough floorstanders yet, but if I had your budget I would consider the following I have listened and impressed enough: Yamaha NS5000 AudioVector R3 Arrete Triangle Magellan Cello Cabasse Baltic (with Santorin 30) VividA...
Which pair of speakers changed your Hifi life?
On a whim, I purchased a pair of brand new Dali Oberon 3 from my local Amazon because it was discounted half price and paired it up to a cheap Sabaj amp. I was using a Sonos Playbase for music and movies, thought it was pretty good. But the Dali O...
Need an integrated amp that sounds engaging at lower volume
I don’t think any of those I listed above have ‘loudness’ button. I was looking at Luxman’s website and it seems their current integrated do not have ‘loudness’ button too. Seems like this feature has gone the way of dinosaur?
Need an integrated amp that sounds engaging at lower volume
If you still can find one, I think Sony TA-A1ES would be perfect. I am using one now and first 15 watts as Class A is enough for most bookshelves.  I think Denon PMA-A110 is also a highly biased design so should be good too. I’ve heard this once ...
CABASSE Murano Any one hear these yet?
Cabasse is extremely underrated and probably would not be amongst the first speakers most would recommend. The brand is partly at fault though, because outside of Europe they are pushing mainly their Artis and Pearl range.  The first time I've he...
Anyone have Warfedale Linton 85th anniversary?
I've heard the Lintons. They certainly had that nostalgic charm to them. The sound was pleasant and laid-back, maybe a bit too laid-back. Not the most versatile. More exciting music like flamenco guitar sounded too polite. I can certainly underst...
Recommend me a Class A Integrated Amp (or sound like Class A amp)
@andrei_nz , uh, I literally said that my speakers are Cabasse Riga on the first line of my post. Understandable though, when I went to the dealers and I mentioned about my speakers most did just go "ummm, what are those?" until I explained that i...

Best speakers for a small room
I had the Triangle Comete 40th for a few months. I loved it to bits and I think it's arguably the best bookshelf speakers for $2-2.5K you can buy now and even better than most in $3-4K range.  I upgraded to Cabasse Riga. It's 3 three times the pr...
new kef ls60s just arrived
I had listened to both LS60 and the Pearl. Both of them are priced the same and very capable performers. LS60 is more refined and sounds very smooth. A bit too smooth I think because instruments sounded kind of artificial, probably because of ove...
Speakers known for great midrange.
A bit late to the party, but the best mid-range I've heard from a pair of bookshelves is from Q Acoustic Model 300. Extremely silky and smooth. It's just too bad the speakers are lacking in other aspects like dynamics. The rolled-off highs and bas...
Recommend me a Class A Integrated Amp (or sound like Class A amp)
I try to keep an open mind. Thankfully my speakers are light enough to carry around easily. I will probably audition Luxman 509X and see whether it would be good for me. I’ve heard the Teac stack I mentioned above yesterday and I was really surpr...
