Power Conditioners to reduce Sibilance
Let the B&W bashing begin.I don't agree with the problem being casued by B&W speakers. These speakers are revealing, that's all. That could be a disadvantage, but you really do want your speakers to be revealing, don't you. The whole idea i...
Power Conditioners to reduce Sibilance
Not sure if the power conditioner would tame down brightness in your system. When I installed Shunyata Hydra power line conditioner in my system I noticed overall reduction in noise floor, but I can't say that it reduced sibilance. You may want to...
Redirecting bass frequencies
Tom's idea is great and if it is properly realized, it sure looks like it could be an advantage over converntional room treatment such as absorbtion where latter could definately be too much of a good thing...
Redirecting bass frequencies
Tom I think you are talking exactly about what I am looking for sonically. I will think about it. I can just smooth out those corners and see how that will change things. I'll start with that.
Redirecting bass frequencies
thanks Tom. I had to read this few times to better picture everything you did. Yes, sounds good, unfortunately I can't do all this as this is a living room as well. And it's an appartment. If I start this here, my land lord will go off like a miss...
Redirecting bass frequencies
Tom, what you are saying is very interesting, however if you could expand on this a little, I would appreciate it. I think you understood what I am trying to accomplish and it would be great to hear your thoughts on how this is done. thanks in adv...
Redirecting bass frequencies
Dave, that's great. Exactly what I am looking for. I have echo busters corner traps installed in the corners behind the speakers and they were an improvement comparing to no treatment at all. I would think the seams or the bass traps should take t...
Redirecting bass frequencies
Right now I have a chance to buy Eighth Nerve seams. They are a little more affordable than Echo Busters. Just curious what opinion people have about these....
Redirecting bass frequencies
REALTRAPS is actually too industrial looking. I did go to the site and read through it, make a lot of sense, but my listenning room is also a living room. Unfortunately I can not have anything that looks like the realtraps stuff. Anything that int...
What's the best CD and/or multiplayer today
Dodson DA-218 DAC with a really good transport. This dac sounds terrific. Liquid smooth with great extension and deep soundstaging. Best piece of digital gear I ever heard. $8000.00
Your say - AudioQuest DBS system
I gave Jaguar a try recently. Returned it. Not good in my system, too laid back, very thin sounding. As for DBS, I found the cable to sound best EVERY time after about 2 hours of playing time. Not the case with Acoustic Zen Matrix Ref II interconn...
Why am I experiencing listener's fatigue?
I'm not an expert, but I think you understand it correctly. Could you please keep me posted on what happens. I am just curious what will be the solution for you. thanks
Audio Research LS-15 Infincaps
LS-15 production with infincaps I think started on or around `'99 - '00. Also, along with infinicaps, ARC started making LS-15 with detachable power cord. Not being a big fan of replacement power cords, I don't care about that particular change
Why am I experiencing listener's fatigue?
from the manual for N805... same as on my manual for N803. They recommend shotgun bi-wire cable. Which I think is the way to go. Check it out."All connections should be made with theequipment switched off. There are 2 pairs of terminals at the bac...
Why am I experiencing listener's fatigue?
Oh...also, in your room it might be different with toe in. I said about a foot in front of me but I did check and they just cross in front of my face, not a foot, but may be 3-4 inches in front of me. But you know you have to experiment. And the f...
