12 AWG Mains Power Cable From Wall To Power Conditioner Sufficient?
@ryder all being equal (cable and connector quality), for source components plugged into a passive or balanced power conditioner I doubt you will benefit from going with a 10 awg vs 12 awg. However, while at it, I would build a scalable solution a...
Acoustic Zen Matrix reference II IC
I used to have Rogue ST100 and RP1 that I upgraded later to RP5. Rogue is good but it isn’t Pass.    Matrix/Silver combo is nice. Not sure why you require schiit equalizer though. Less is more in the signal chain….just my $0.05.
Acoustic Zen Matrix reference II IC
I have Pass preamp and amp. Where did you see that I run tube monos and preamp?
Absorption, Diffusion or a combination of it all?
Taking time to research. I’m using the panels that I already have to experiment. I’ll play with REW soon. We’ll see what it does.
Absorption, Diffusion or a combination of it all?
Experimented today with all the panels (GIK 242) except bass traps leaned against side wall at first reflection points. It helped with better focus, imaging was more precise and the soundstage deeper and wider. Front wall was bare.  I think it dep...
Acoustic Zen Matrix reference II IC
@stuartk I had all these cables. I prefer the Silver Ref II for the phono stage and Absolute Copper for DAC to pre and pre to amp. The Matrix Ref II is warmer than the Absolute Copper. In my system I don’t find the Absolute Copper dark sounding. T...
would innuos mk3 streamer benefit from network filter
Break it in for a minimum of 200hrs, let it settle. Also, do you have it plugged into a power conditioner? What cables do you currently have it connected with (power, ethernet, digital)?
Pass Labs XP32 or XP22?
When moving up the preamp chain from XP12 I was between XP22 and ARC Ref 5 SE to pair with my Pass XA30.8. Ended up with the XP22 despite being close to pulling the trigger on a Ref 5SE. I just didn’t want tubes anymore right now (had enough with ...
Absorption, Diffusion or a combination of it all?
I got an email chain going with Mike Major of GIK. His recommendation based on information and pictures I provided is to fill the side walls up with at least 5” thick absorption panels all the way to the level of listening chair and go as thick as...
OMG Moment
@vonhelmholtz thanks for the compliment!!! Your room looks amazing! Love that turntable! @blisshifi definitely possible. But I consistently have a tall soundstage in my room. I’m working to improve the acoustics so hopefully I won’t mess it all up.
Apple Music vs Tidal for SQ
I wouldn’t make a blanket statement that Qobuz is better than Tidal. Here’s why… Some albums available on Tidal, missing on Qobuz.  Redbook versions of some albums sound better on Tidal Both Tidal and Qobuz, however, sound better than Apple ...
Absorption, Diffusion or a combination of it all?
@redlenses03 I spent quiet a bit of time dialing in speaker placement. I’m sure I can squeeze some more out of it when the room acoustics are dealt with.  Need to look into REW. Haven’t had the time yet.
OMG Moment
@blisshifi really? in my room the Sabrinas throw an image at around 6ft height for the vocals. I’ve never had a problem with them imagining low.
Absorption, Diffusion or a combination of it all?
