Rogue Audio RP-1 DAC use
@abnerjack  What I said was If after getting acclimated to one DAC it all still sounds the same to you, you’re either not capable to hear the differences or your system is not revealing (it’s not RP1 cause it’s pretty transparent) and or your r...

DH Labs - Shunyata Cable Comparison
The number of cretins frequenting these forums had increased exponentially in the last year or two. Best ones are those who have no system but have an opinion on components and cables. It almost seems as if ASR is down for maintenance on some days...
Rogue Audio RP-1 DAC use
I tested the following DACs with RP1 when I had it and the difference was immediately apparent: Chord Qutest, Mytek Brooklyn 2, Bryston BDA-3.14 I ended up with Chord Qutest.  Amp was Rogue ST100 driving Martin Logan Montis.  DACs should not be...

@ghdprentice you nailed it. Realistic and nuanced is exactly what I’m looking for as well. Accuracy of tone, expression, dynamics and articulation win any day over artificial “slam”.

“Slam” is a very interesting attribute. What does it mean? Do you hear this “slam” when listening to live music? Is this “slam” an accurate representation of what’s on a recording or is it emphasis of particular frequency range that one component ...

Yep it’s not enough to heat even a small room. And it sounds superb! The first 18w in Class A is what the Avant-garde are going to use. And most likely never exceed. It drives my Wilson Audio Sabrina (87db and 4ohm dipping into 2ohm) no problems.

I had Pass XA30.8 and X260.8 monos. Operating temperature was about 104-105!degrees Fahrenheit. I have Coda CSib V1 integrated now with 18w Class A that is smaller than Pass and runs at around 97-98 degrees. Not as much heat and not enough to beco...
Updating my streamer
@bortonj IMO going with the best possible DAC that has a built in network card and is Roon ready is probably a better approach than going with a streamer that has a built in DAC. Look into Bricasti M3 with network card. You can use Roon or Mconnec...

@rvpiano … It’s interesting how close the sound of the N200 is to analog sound, practically identical. Minus tick, pops, noisy dead wax and getting up every 15min to flip a record then rush back to the chair to manage to sit back down in tim...

Cool. I meant to call them today to borrow a set of FrontRow XLRs to try against ny Nordost Tyr 2 (silver plated copper). Got to caught up in work. Hopefully tomorrow. If I get to try them I’ll post my impressions.
DH Labs - Shunyata Cable Comparison
@jfrmusic that’s really interesting! Because FrontRow is more resolving than the AU24SX. I went from SX to FrontRow and the resolution is no comparison but hey I’m not The Cable guy so what do I know 😂
DH Labs - Shunyata Cable Comparison
@jfrmusic sounds good! DH Labs are fine cables and are a great value for the money, that’s for sure. Enjoy the new cables! If you’re borrowing from The Cable Co. they can credit the lending library fee towards purchase. Ask them about the compari...
DH Labs - Shunyata Cable Comparison
@jfrmusic I’ve found that cables, like components, require at least several days of listening to adjust to new sound. The excitement and anticipation cools off and you begin to hear and understand what the cables or components are doing vs your pr...

@rvpiano 👍 keep cooking it. I would also disconnect and remove the coax if you’re not using it. Eliminate the unnecessary connection and cable - reduce the chances of EMI and RFi creeping in.
