Relationship between Ethernet Switch and SQ @cleeds ha? Dropped bits? Man who’s saying anything about dropped bits? I’m talking about difference in sound quality that’s influenced more by a component design and implementation as well as parts quality that impact the sonics more than the n...
*DAC Ah…just went back to your system page and saw this Stock power cables, Blue Jean speaker cables (12 awg - 6ft long) Blue Jean interconnects is that still accurate?
*DAC @navyachts the suggestion by @ghdprentice to try a Chord DAC is right on target I think. Chord has a great tone, good dynamics and offers few filter options to fine tune the sound. I was running a Chord Qutest when I had the Martin Logan Montis wi...
Using Optical Network Port on a Lumin U2 I take it any fiber optic cable will do. It’s not susceptible to emi and rfi. I wouldn’t go crazy there. It’s a great option to have in a streamer.
Relationship between Ethernet Switch and SQ @lalitk agreed. All you will get is clutter. Add linear power supplies to those fiber optic converters and get even more clutter. I have tried that fiber optic setup with several streamers that accept only copper network cables and actually don’t ...
Using Optical Network Port on a Lumin U2 Honestly I haven’t experimented much outside of fiber optic converters. I got the LinkUp Ethernet and whatever the generic fiber I found….my order… https://a.co/d/doIvRLK https://a.co/d/eS0SW4O https://a.co/d/5XfhlSj Can’t tell you anything ab...
Aardvark Ethernet noise isolator Cool. I’d be curious to hear your thoughts.
Using Optical Network Port on a Lumin U2 @efoo option 1 is an easiest to test - get the converters on Amazon. If you don’t like the results, return them. Your option 2 is similar to what @ozzy uses with his Lumin and we just chatted about it here - he uses EtherREGEN to output fiber opti...
Do dormant cables need "RE" Broken In? If so how long can they sit dormant? I let my system warm up for a few hours every time with something playing at a very low volume before listening. For the cables that haven’t been used for a few months, I would allow 24-48hrs of play time. Go by what your ears tell you.
Lifting the Christmas veil Cool wife, awesome present! Enjoy!!!
Relationship between Ethernet Switch and SQ Yes the Eno is gone. I actually had it for a while and concluded I didn’t need it. With it in my system the sound became a bit too mellow. I heard that their Muon is more dynamic and more resolving but I’m not planning to spend $2200 on the netwo...
Lumin U2 or Aurender N200 @efoo it’s fun to play with to hear what it does. Takes a few days to get a hang of it. Same with Roon DSP sample rate conversion. Sounds good for few hours then I switch back. The Auralic Aries G1 that I owned also had upconversion and once agai...
Relationship between Ethernet Switch and SQ @cleeds I have owned Auralic Aries G1 and Lumin U1 Mini. Currently I am using a network renderer in my DAC (Bricasti M3) as a Roon endpoint (Roon core duties are handled by Mac Mini) without an outboard dedicated streamer. I also occasionally use ...
Relationship between Ethernet Switch and SQ That sounds like a good setup! Enjoy!
Relationship between Ethernet Switch and SQ @mathiasmingus congrats on the purchase! The BDP3 if my memory serves is Roon ready. I’d give that a shot for the free trial period and compare the sound quality of Manic Moose vs. Roon. I’ve seen the Bryston software and I am pretty sure Roon is ... |
