Thumbs up for ultrasonic record cleaning
I'm another 'air-dryer'.  Because I don't have a vacuum.  So my process is to Spin Clean w/ their solution first, put them on the VinylStack, drop into the bath for 10 minutes and then take it over to the kitchen sink and run warm water over them ...

@slaw  Thank you for that!  I feel a lot better now.  I was worried some of the early experiments might have been softened a bit from higher/longer temps.  But once records are US cleaned, the differences between warm and bright recordings are eve...

Wow, thanks guys.  @slaw  No issues with treble for those longer/warmer sessions?  @whart   Yeah, I do have a few more valuable records that are very noisy and would love to spend the time to clean them up if it's even possible.  One that I really...

I've been experimenting a fair amount over the past week.  At first, I was running the tank around 40-43 degrees Celsius, for 3 turns @ 7 mins/turn.  So 21 minutes total.  After reading more on the VPI forums, I decided to try Harry's recommendati...

Well I am 12 records in and completely sold on US cleaning.  I did some old records and some new.  One was even sealed since 1988.  I played that one first and although 80s vinyl quality are infamously crappy, this pressing was fantastic.  Especia...

I should have my DIY system in a few days.  Has anyone used TergiKleen™ in their bath?  I figured it was safer to buy a pre-mixed solution to get the regimen down pat.  Then I can experiment with home brewed mixtures.
Reducing Background Noise On Records
I was able to lower surface noise by a pretty large amount by replacing stock VPI Classic feet with GAIA II feet.  I thought things were pretty well isolated on a 3" maple block with isolation pads in each corner.  Obviously, pops and clicks are s...
Benz Ruby ZH or Wood SM?
Now that Ruby Zebrawood has been around for several years, does anyone have any comparisons/experiences that they can add?  Thanks!
Any of you experiment with optimal VTA for Benz Micro Cartridges
@atmasphere  is totally correct.  I decided to try my Benz Woos SL wide open (@47k) about a week ago.  To my surprise, I love it.  The Sutherland 20/20 phono pre is stable enough with the highs just as smooth as they were when the Benz was loaded ...

@prof  That looks like a very nice phono stage to go with a killer turntable and cart!  The other guys nailed it on what you should look for/do.  Congrats either way!
Any of you experiment with optimal VTA for Benz Micro Cartridges
Reviving an old thread in case anyone reads this and wants more input... I've owned a Benz Micro Wood SL for over two years.  I have always set VTA with the top of the cartridge level to the playing surface.  Recently, I listened to some vinyl rip...
Krell HTS 7.1 for 2 channel or a new or used 2 channel pre?
I just got my HTS 7.1 back from Krell for a few replacement caps.  They also updated the firmware from 2.0 to 3.7 for free (they didn't even tell me they were doing it!).  After having it for a few months, then losing it for 6 weeks, I can say it'...
