Lyngdorf MP-50 Alternative
Why not add a stereo preamp with HT bypass?  I own a Lyngdorf MP-60 2.1 but only use it for movies, gaming and video streaming.  I have an Ayre KX/VX-5 Twenty combo for anything 2 channel (DAC and TT at the moment).  The Lyngdorf's R/L outputs go ...

@sns said: As debjit_g mentioned above, conversion of optical back to ethernet is somewhat detrimental, place for noise to re-enter network. And the boards in generic FMC are not optimum. Understanding this is what motivated me to upgrade to Opti...

A different world
@ghdprentice if you think you ’got there’ with just a few wall warts, congratulations. For others, it seemingly never ends as we just find more and more improvements through experimentation. I have no complaints with my journey so don’t be sorry. ...
eARC when using Roku
@guyt I also run fiber optic HDMI cables for every gaming system I own (Switch, Xbox Series X and PS5).  Still using copper for my video streamers though.  I already own AQ Carbon and Vodka 48, so may as well keep using them.  But no issues with t...
A different world
Ohhh man what I went through last year to get my s$%t wired up... Changed my entire LAN from copper to fiber, new router with SFP+ port and all fiber-switches.  And all gear, switches, router, FMCs and EtherRegen have linear power supplies.  What ...
eARC when using Roku
I've personally found things better running in through the TV and then out via ARC.  But not always.  Your SSP is pretty top level, so I can't imagine their video switching/passthrough isn't done right.  With some setups, I would get more judder r...
Uptone Audio EtherREGEN review
@jl1ny I will say that an EtherRegen which I inserted into my all-fiber LAN recently made little/no difference.  For reference, I noted immediate/obvious differences when adding in LPS's to my upstream components.  Router, Intel NUC and every one ...
Does ethernet switch quality matter when using fiber connection?
Not enough information about your LAN or streamer to give you a meaningful response.  But at some point you have to convert fiber to copper and/or copper to fiber.  And for that conversion, quality matters.  As does the PSU for the converter/switch.
Frequency response while streaming stops at 15kHz- did I miss something in the fine print?
@tonywinga I’m not sure what’s going on then. I pulled out a spectrometer app just for kicks and I get plenty of action even over 20kHz+ (at my listening position) with Roon+Tidal in my setup. All fiber LAN. Running a mini PC feeding a PS Audio DS...
Pimping your router
How about just pimping your LAN?  Run fiber instead of copper.  Once you go lite-brite, you'll never go nite-nite.
Frequency response while streaming stops at 15kHz- did I miss something in the fine print?
Which vinyl test record do you own that's flat out to 20kHz?  I have yet to find one.  I have three and all drop fairly sharply at around the 16-18kHz range. Also, I preferred the sound of Tidal when I compared it to Qobuz earlier this year.  Tidal...
Marantz AV7005 - Widow w/question
I owned this processor as well....  For a loooong time.  In fact, I gave it to my retired father when I bought a Krell processor 4-5 years ago.  It is still going strong and I would almost guarantee you, if there really were 3 versions (which I se...
Qobuz or Tidal?
@arthur1260 you are either hearing things or something is not set up equally between the two streaming services.  I speak from experience as I made the same mistake.  I've since corrected my mistake (reset Roon completely) and started fresh and ma...
CD v Streamed
@antigrunge2 could be.  Either way though, it is puzzling.
