Surge protector
@immatthewj pay no attention to the pics, they all come w/ attached cord. Your seeing a listing for extra 3ft cords for sources.
Surge protector
Furman pst-8, had mine going on 4 or 5 years. Works great.
You can't afford a Lambo Veneno, so get this..
Not for me, but thanks for sharing
Streamers under $1500
Smsl sd-9 works for me...glitchy at times but sounds good. More of a renderer than an actual streamer, but for what I use it for, fits the bill. Still use a grace digital streamer, less than 200 bucks, works very well.
Decware Sarah 300B Amp?
Good for background music, about it. Flea watt amp. I’ll take my bridged 300 watt per channel amps, continuous, with monster reserve power over a flea watt amp any day of the week. Recently did a little experiment using two Nad c268’s bridged, dri...
SUT help
The jensen isomax sut is a nice one. The 1/10 version will work well with the hana's. I use it with both my hana el and denon dl103. Tavish design uses Jensen transformers in their adagio.
Outlet Question
There is nothing good @20 bucks. Get the AQ Edison. You generally only need one, and only have to buy it once.
Accuphase E-280 Voltage Conversion (100V to 120V)
Why dink around? Just buy the US model. Mines for sale, still In a sealed box.
Listening position/speaker position
Unless your speakers are 10 feet apart, which would not be recomended, why are you sitting 10 feet away? I would think your seated position would/should be equidistant to the distance between each speaker, the equilateral triangle. You are listeni...
Re: streaming recommendations for newbie
Just bought a smls sd-9. It seems to be of good quality. It’s more a renderer than streamer, but works for me. Has an abundance of connection options and a screen, albeit, very small. You connect it to a dac of your choice, no dac built in.
Should we care if a piece of equipment comes from a pet-free, kid-free, smoke-free home?
It's ur money, I'll take a pet free, smoke free, children free piece of gear over the alternative every single time...
Could Class D really be that good?
I just bought a Nad c268, just to experiment with class D and to use as a second, or maybe third set up. I’m not using a conventional preamp, but instead running two sources into the amp. The sources, a Music Hall A3 Analogue phono stage, and a Sm...
If you have a nice system why do you really need room treatments?
Some of us live in the real world, with unappreciated nagging wives etc...I know of no women who is into any of this audiophile jazz...the real world means no dedicated listening room, probably the majority here. If you do have one , then consider...
WHY CABLES MATTER!
Of course cables matter...they are bridging one component to the next one. I don't want to drive over a weak bridge.
Is positive reinforcement why things are sounding better?
I’d say it’s a combination of good equipment and bias. So as long as your happy, that should be all that matters.
