Music First Audio Passive Magnetic Preamplifiers?
Oh yeah, my classic does NOT have the mk II transformers. I'm sending it back to MFA for the upgraded xformers and the remote option. Im also having a custom bypass switch installed so I can do comparisons more easily between different digital vol...
Music First Audio Passive Magnetic Preamplifiers?
I own the MFA copper classic and the MFA Reference. They are worth every penny IF you value sound. I have directly compared it to the latest Tube Research Labs $35k preamplifier and the classic walked away from that unit. I have also c impeded it ...
Review: MSB Technology DAC IV Signature DA converter
Nice!!! I have been trying to get people to see that MSB stuff is superior to most of the repackaged hype out there in the market place. I have to power Dac but I am looking to get a platinum diamond Dac for another system.
Help appreciated: Martin Logan Statement E2
My two cents; please offer comments on my comments. From a purely engineering standpoint I would think that OTL's would be one of the worst choices in the world to team up with an electrostatic speaker. Now let me say I have heard the Statements b...
MSB platinum DAC USB2
I would suggest that you are looking at raw sample rate numbers and creating an imaginary and I might add irrelevant cost/sample-rate ratio. This is not how R&D works. This is a proprietary implementation and is quite a bit more complex than w...
iMac far from audo rack - any suggestions?
You can buy a Tos to miniTos from Audio advisor for about USD $4.00. Also the HiFACE does 24/192khz...today for $150.00 (RCA version) or $180.00 (BNC). Actually it (HiFace) will pass 32/192khz data but I don't think too many of us have 32 bit dacs...
iMac far from audo rack - any suggestions?
Hi, I have the M2Tech HiFace and it is outstanding, but in your case you may be interested to know that they have a new product just around the corner USB --> XLR. It is a separated box requiring a USB cable but you have an XLR on the output, g...
Dynavox DynaStation CD player
I had a Dynavox Dynastation II (USD $7k) one of the top 2 best CD players I have ever heard period. That thing was phenomenally good. I moved on to my mac mini as a music server into a Bidat Plus and an MSB Power Dac.
Is anyone with an MSB Dac using an outboard clock?
Hi, I asked MSB about trying a outboard clock with my Power Dac and I was told that it probably would not benefit me at all. The unit uses a TCXO 2.5ppm which is really good and it buffers 1/2 second of the signal which reduce jitter quite a bit a...
MSB DAC IV or dCS Paganini
I can't wait to hear the Plat IV.
Why are server setups so costly relative to CDP's?
I meant to say "when power cords are being sold for $3K all day..."

MSB DAC IV or dCS Paganini
Yes, it is a bit involved but this is what I had to do in order to get my MSB up to that of the best digital I have heard. I did not thatmy units neesds to be on vibration control preferably wood blocks (3) with some type of dampening atop the uni...
MSB DAC IV or dCS Paganini
The MSB when carefully setup is one of the best dacs I've yet to hear, perhaps it is the best. I own the Power DAC, it is in a completely different league than say the Weiss Minerva. I have a thread on here detailing my long journey with the MSB d...
Bidat vs Perfect Wave vs Weiss and others
I wanted to also back away from something I stated earlier concerning iTunes down-sampling. It is not nearly as bad as I mentioned when the Bidat first arrived. I can only hypothesize that the pre-broken in Bidat and the down-sampled files didn't ...
