Funny how streaming/digital still chases that analog benchmark.
lexx, I have little doubt my analog system, well system in general, in a purpose built room, with properly designed, and tuned acoustics, with a carefully set up signal chain, is quite a bit better than what you have, I have no delusions about its...

And there you have it. Proof positive that skychild is just upset that there is yet another thing if life skychild can't hold over the masses. When you reach puberty maybe come back to the adult table.
Better Records White Hot Stampers: Now the Story Can Be Told!
The conclusion I gather most from this thread is that this awesome vinyl media people keep blathering on about is on average crap and substandard. Audio Russian Roulette.

All the studies show this one thing alone, minimum wage laws, increases unemployment. The biggest increase is at the lowest end, those with the least skills. They are the ones who wind up unemployable, because they simply are not worth $20/hr. And...

One F18 can shoot down 16 of them at once..It's amazing that one can be so arrogant about supposed aircraft knowledge but not know that the standard F18 only has 9 usable missles and the Super Hornet only has 11 in absolute maximum configuration.

Hey Op, I know you are upset that with equally well mastered recordings that a $150 Chinese DAC blows away your $10,000 plus work of art vinyl setup, but did you really need to create a thread to vent about it?
What is the Silliest Accessory You Have Ever Seen.
There is a popular internet meme, with people going in two directions. They comes across a cross-roads, and they have two choices of answers, "Simple but wrong", and "Complex but right".  Most "tweaks" are the equivalent of "simple but wrong". Rai...

Schumann Resonator
And no one questions putting a bunch of these in their room, not one of them synchronized with the others. Nor do they question how "efficient" that antenna, often just traces on a PCB, would be at 8Hz. Pet rocks would work better.
SQ vs. Music
Has someone already used the old adage that audiophile buy music to listen to their gear? When it is work, almost always it is about SQ, which is probably why when it is pleasure it is pretty much all about the music, unless I perceive their is som...

Help me tame my out of control bass
Odds are the microphone/mic-input is picking up 60Hz and rectifying it (hence 120Hz).
Driver breakin period, what’s the science?
Alan Shaw of Harbeth will tell you it’s bogus and a phycological effect,There's a nice article on driver break-in at the GR Research site complete with measurements of various drivers as a function of time. I have no reason to question Danny's nu...
Driver breakin period, what’s the science?
Relative output of your driver's did not change more than a fraction of a db after the first few hours. The crossover points may have changed a very small amount. The l-pads and tone controls were not doing what you think they were.
