Brand new Technics SL-1210GR platter wobble ... disappointed!
That dude at Cruchfield is full of it. Return it. I’ve had 5 or 6 1200s, never had this problem. Even after dragging them to gigs repeatedly for 20+ years. Get your money back.
Better Records White Hot Stampers: Now the Story Can Be Told!
I grew up in Thousand Oaks. Do you mean to tell me the goldmine of digging was under my nose? 10,000 or so records later? That’s much easier than digging through rat poop and mold in old basements around the globe.

Best type of metal for turntable platform?
I need some feet under a TT plinth (which just nothing fancy, just about 6" stack of Baltic Birch ply) and was thinking of trying the Townsend Pods. Would I divide my roughly 100lb load by 4 and use 4x pods that accommodate roughly 25lb each?
Artists you feel you can rely on, buy any new album unheard.
I dunno if dead artists count as new. The problem with great artists is that almost always they live long enough to make some garbage. Few exceptions. You gotta be really dedicated to love an artist at their worst!
Finally found THE SPEAKER!!!

FR64/66s Arm Rest repair?
Took an entire day fishing a broken piece of steel out of a 2mm cavity, but alas it was done and its been repaired DIY. But knowing, just knowing that the arm rest now sits a mere 6mm shorter than was originally designed will eat away at my soul. ...
Mystery rack
Wow that's fantastic, thanks so much both of you!
Mystery rack
@oldhvymec Yes exactly! The modularity is attractive to me, similar to a USM Haller approach, although would fill the pipes with sand. The planes could be anything, but I’m interested in the joints.
Mystery rack
@grinnell That was the plan, or thick acrylic. It’s mostly the metal frame/joints I’m interested in.
