Looking at some Devore "The Nines", Current amp is CJ CA200. Devores are really designed for tubes! They are also easy to drive, and our customers have really nice things to say about them. You will do alright with your amp, but if you like the combination, I suggest that you audition a good tube amp on the...
Headphone question The high end Grados and the high end Sennheisers are excellent. I don't have the same experience as you with the SR-60s. We use them in the studio a lot and they seem to be quite accurate. What differences are there between your headphone circuits...
Neutral electronics are a farce... The speed of acoustic waves in air is the most important aspect of sound reproduction to get right. Are you suggesting that a circuit can change the speed of sound through air? Or are you meaning something else?
6sn7 or 6sl7 The two are not really all that interchangeable due to different characteristics. You can place a 6SN7 in a 6SL7 socket without damage, but it won't sound right because the bias points for a 6SL7 are so different.
Neutral electronics are a farce... What velocity?
Is there advantage to balanced phono-preamp ^^ just a point of clarification, if the circuit is differential (a form of balanced operation) then the 'plus and minus portions of the signal' are handled by circuits that are **not** 'completely separate', in fact the circuits must be intimatel...
Will Changing my 100 Watt Tube Amp to a 200 Watt SS Amp Solve My Problem? No power issues in this case.
power amp recommendation It looks like the speaker can be driven by tubes as well.I would look into Pass Labs if you are thinking solid state.
Will Changing my 100 Watt Tube Amp to a 200 Watt SS Amp Solve My Problem? So, does this experiment show that the preamp is quiet and the phono stage is noisy? Or, is it still the preamp somehow, and the higher gain of the phono stage is bringing out the inherent noise in the preamp somehow? That's what I was saying e...
Has anyone heard the new North American products preamp and amp? Roger, I think its in your best interests to avoid much in the way of explanation of what you are up to- seriously. I've already said why. Now the problem here of course if that you have a circuit that can do the process, but no means of measureme...
Will Changing my 100 Watt Tube Amp to a 200 Watt SS Amp Solve My Problem? ^^ bigger amps won't cure this problem as it is not caused by amplifier power or the lack thereof.I have seen problems with cartridges where the magnet structure was damaged and has caused low output in both channels. The Whest, while not my favor...
Hybrid tube/ss phono pre amps. Are they better than just Tube or SS alone? atmasphere… Does that mean when the volume level is lower coming through the speakers? No. what we are talking about with low level detail is the lesser sounds in the recording- hall ambiance, little details like people shifting in their chairs, s...
Will Changing my 100 Watt Tube Amp to a 200 Watt SS Amp Solve My Problem? Mark, your ARC LS25 is a selectable gain line stage. It looks like you can set the gain anywhere between 0 dB and 18 dB. What do you currently have the LS25 gain set at?The line stage gain will not make any difference. The volume control won't ...
Has anyone heard the new North American products preamp and amp? atmasphere, since I started this thread making exactly your main point, namely let this amp prove itself, as it has with all the first adopters, you are the point who is digging a hole for yourself, as you have no credence in discussing how it ...
Has anyone heard the new North American products preamp and amp? 800db?? Lesse... 700 db is 10 to the 35th power or so... 800 db is 10 to the 40th power. Obviously the statement is ridiculous. No wonder you don't have a means of measurement. Now the problem here of course if that you have a circuit that can do ... |
