Linear Tracking Turntables - Best??
@ct0517 , Thanks for your explanation- I bet there are a lot of owners that don't check that!
Determining current flow to install "audiophile" fuses.
The nonsense that it is AC current going through them is obviously wrong. tbg, are you suggesting that fuses don't have AC current going through them?Just a FWIW for you: real engineers have to by definition also be scientists. If we abandoned the...
QUALITY AND SECURITY OF "LITTELFUSE" PRODUCTS
In case no-one has made this clear, Littlefuse and Buss are the two top manufacturers of fuses worldwide. Their product is excellent and reliable and beyond reproach.
Looking for the good sounding Pre Amplifier
Do you need a phono section?
Where do you guys buy tubes?
Question for Atmasphere:  Do you think JJ has resolved quality problems?  I had some KT88s from them a while back.  They sounded great but did not last.  Failed in a damaging way to the JoLida integrated I was running at the time.  I'd be pleas...
Linear Tracking Turntables - Best??
Donc55 that's why the only ones I would use are the air bearing ones. Atmasphere the ET2 can be set with the bearing at the level of the LP. The ET is also stupidly well priced for what it is.  SOTA for under 1K used.  I think it's because a lot...
Determining current flow to install "audiophile" fuses.
No, actually it can’t be expectation bias or warming up of the component, inadvertently scraping off the dirt or oxide from the fuse holder or even placebo effect. We’ve already been over that. Well actually it totally can be; just because  'We'...

Regarding the anecdotal reports Geoff refers to, such as those provided by various A’gon members in the current SR fuse thread, those are the one reason for which my mind remains somewhat open on this issue. Particularly given that some of thos...

Fuse directionality is not something exclusive to only high-end fuses. I found that even cheaper fuses have a preferred direction. One way to find out is to look at the cap ends with a magnifying glass. I found that the majority will have th...
Technical question on phase inversion.
Roughly speaking, 50% of all recordings are 'phase inverted'. If the recording is multi-miked and multi-tracked, its going to be really hard if not impossible to hear the difference.
QUALITY AND SECURITY OF "LITTELFUSE" PRODUCTS
FWIW, We’ve had boutique fuse manufacturers sending us fuses for years. At least one of them was a customer of ours. Funny thing- none of them have mentioned anything about directionality of the fuse (although one of them is marked as if it is). S...

What makes fuses directional?Nothing.@joecasey, I had read that, but that does not seem what your prior post was addressing. Am I incorrect in this?
Linear Tracking Turntables - Best??
@larryi, there is a problem with this statement: Bass is typically mastered monophonically, which means only lateral movement of the stylus tracing the groove.  The higher effective mass in the horizontal plane would keep the arm from moving so ...

Audiophile fuses have been in the market for YEARS and if they are not designed for ,capable of, or suitable for, use in a DC circuit---the very kind of circuit in which a tube operates ... why is the market growing and these voodoo companies a...
Determining current flow to install "audiophile" fuses.
I read somewhere that only the direction of the ac [in a fuse...or power cord for that matter] towards the business end of the component[what is heard] is of any value in directional break-in ,hence, the reason there is directionality in a fuse...
