Are all speaker relays removable? One receiver with two relays?
I'd go with that. If you cleaned front panel switches, one trouble-maker is the 'tape monitor' switch which is notorious for knocking out one channel mysteriously. You might have already sorted that out.
Solid states more accurate than tubes?
What are some of the speakers that sound especially accurate and good with Atma-sphere OTL amps? Some examples would be helpful to illustrate you're point.Quad ESLs, Sound Lab ESLs, Classic Audio Loudspeakers (I have T-3s at home), Audiokinesis...
Looking for a Tube Pre Amp to drive ATC SCM150ASLT Speakers
Since ATCs are intended for use with a balanced source, it would be a good idea for that source to support the balanced line standard. In this way you can run longer interconnect cables and the artifacts of those cables will be minimized- meaning ...
Are all speaker relays removable? One receiver with two relays?
I've removed the covers to relays like that before. They aren't really intended to be removed, so its likely they will not snap back in place very well once you've cleaned the relay contacts.IME cleaning relay contacts is problematic. When the con...
2020 quest for stereo amp with DAC for about 1000 USD
If it were me I'd get a separate DAC- perhaps the Topping E30 which is quite musical outside of its price range ($130.00 with shipping; I've heard it take down DACs costing $4000.00 so this is for real) and just get a decent amp. The E-30 has remo...
Cartridge Opinions - Sorry
@rauliruegas you left out this bit:Since then I've seen this simple fact play out again and again. Now we all know that if a cartridge isn't set up right it can have more distortion- and this is easily measured. And we also know that some arms ...
Cartridge Opinions - Sorry
You have no idea what you are talking about and your statements are boarding stupidity land.Again, after LP cartridge is the most important item in the analog rig.You might try it. I discovered that the arm is more important when one channel of my...
Looking for tonearm inspiration
several grades? : how many grades and where are stated ?@rauliruegas  If memory serves the bearings in the SME 5 are the hardest commercially available. The bearings in the Triplanar are not commercially available; Triplanar has a security clearan...
Solid states more accurate than tubes?
but then those easy to drive/efficient speakers themselves are not the most accurate things to listen to. This is highly debatable! Many of the Wilson speakers made in the last 20 years are very easy to drive. An easy load to drive has a serious a...
what is your opinion ?
as far I know everything copy of copy nothing is original even in terms of Audio engineering J.Futterman came up Design of with OTL amps rather talented E.engineers improve or re create their own design@sabih  Just FWIW, the OTL we make is not a...
Do the best audio designers put their ears before the numbers.
Subjectively speaking, most of our hearing can’t be measured in a way that tells us how something will sound. So if we can’t measure our hearing to correlate with the numbers ( measurements) used by manufacturer’s of audio components, why are t...
Phono Preamp. With transformer or fully active
Are you the guys who do OTL amps?Do you do “ just” phono pre’s ? We do the OTL amps, but so far have avoided stand alone phono sections as we are convinced that they work better when they are integrated into the same chassis as the line stage, thi...
Cartridge Opinions - Sorry
Since when?. Everything the same the cartridge self quality level performance is an makes a difference.Apparently since tonearms have been available that are adjustable enough that they can really get the cartridge to track properly.
what is your opinion ?
Maybe Ralph may want to comment on how the 3C24 would match with your Altecs.I think it might work rather well but the design of the output transformer would be paramount, as this tube likes to run at some pretty high voltages! This requires a hig...
Phono Preamp. With transformer or fully active
@intactaudio I don't see you commenting about the transformer loading in your post. I know that this bit is problematic: If you take a 2Ω cart and use a SUT designed for 40Ω, the LF extension will be down into and past record warp and tonearm res...
