Each recording has one right volume level.
If by graphic you mean finite impulse response filters in DSP with a graphic user interface and song/genre presets .... You may be right :-)
How do you rationalize audio upgrades?
For ~ 95% of the audiophiles I have met, the upgrade justification is to achieve some new level of audio nirvana that said upgrade (or tweak) is going to achieve for them. Then when they upgrade X ... well now I am going to have to upgrade Y. It’s...

Millercarbon,I understand, quite well. the Fletcher-Munson curves thank you. However, there is a difference between understanding them, and applying them correctly. I disagree with how you attempted to apply them w.r.t. my post.By thinking what I w...
Interconnect Directionality
Problem with the internet ... you don't know if you missed an inside joke, intentional trolling, or gross misunderstandings ... or all 3 wrapped up into one.
Each recording has one right volume level.
I think your comment, "volume for tonality, it's volume for dynamic range" misses the point of my post. My point is that if you want to hear the recording as intended you either need to listen to it at the volume it was mixed and mastered at, or y...
Each recording has one right volume level.
While I think I know what you are trying to communicate at this point, I am not sure I agree completely. If the recording is "flat" or at least as intended, then the playback should be "flat" as well at least to sound as intended at the volume lev...
Each recording has one right volume level.
Today you could embed that in metadata or provide an online database where that information is available. I expect mostly it is not.

Most classical / jazz / and similar are not usually played at ear destroying volumes. Same would be true for everything outside of pop / rock / probably dance. But .. and maybe some of the recording engineers could pop in on this one, we rarely li...
Bright High End Speakers = Bad Room?
I wish I could bold this in 100 point font. THIS!!!    Volume has an enormous impact on perceived tonal balance, far more than almost anything. I think I may even make a topic about it! mijostyn1,269 posts11-01-2019 2:11pm Without loudness compens...
Network Switches
Ethernet is always galvanically isolated. The connection is through a transformer.
Can an IC based amp be considered 'high end'?
Design a high qualify amplifier based around an IC amp ... good power supply decoupling, quality components, etc. Build a high quality amplifier PCB based on said design. Encase most of the circuity in epoxy potting compound to hide what is in the...
First order/Time Phase-Coherent speakers discussions
Even if you have perfect pistonic motion, you still have intermodulation distortion with a pistonic driver. It is unavoidable.
First order/Time Phase-Coherent speakers discussions
Let’s start with your comment about capacitors. Assuming the capacitor is bipolar, which pretty much all capacitors in speakers are as well as many audiophiles, it works the same in both directions of the AC signal. Voltage lag is not 90 degrees, ...
Network Switches
My post was in reply to "there is no way the digital transmission can impact the audio" .... It was a thought exercise to show that yes, in fact, the method of digital transport can have unintended consequences that present themselves in the analo...
Network Switches
No, not better switching duties, but perhaps better noise isolation. mitch22,069 posts10-31-2019 6:12pmso what I believe you are implying is that a separate switch will perform the switching duties better than my Orbi router.
