What is your speaker ownership history since 1995?
OMG, some of you resemble junkies, always on the hunt for the next fix. *LOL*  Changing drivers as often as you change your underwear....I'm not even going to try to show my cards in this poker game.  I'll just keep on trying to do the impossible ...
2017 California Audio Show in Oakland, CA - Partial Review
Hi, Eric.  Interested if you've got any other observations about the Napa/Visual Arts speakers.  I recognize them as being DML type drivers, which are just becoming 'interesting' as people begin to fool around with them...http://www.tectonicaudiol...
Room treatments
Masterplan...10' ceilings, OK.  What's the room dimensions?  Couldn't find your pic of the space....having lived in a Victorian with 10' ceilings and a small room with plaster walls to boot, know how it can be an echo chamber.  Now I've got 12' ce...
"10 Recommended Turntables"....
lewm, I'm not surprised by your experience...some of the stuff related to 'current audio' that pops up smells like 'click bait' for the newbies or those curious about the 'new trend'.  Pity 'bout that....those whose interests lie in stocks should ...
"10 Recommended Turntables"....
*L*  Wino, no kidding.  But, after all, this is from a rag that's not 'audiophile oriented', so slack needs application. ;)But some of that stuff....damn, my original AR manual was comparable, and all it really needed was a arm lift or a steady ha...
Tonearm microphonics
....when I read the title of this thread, my first impression was that the tonearm was acting like a microphone, picking up mutterings during cue up....The only thing to be concerned about would be if it taps back...in code...;)
Would "Sgt. Pepper's" be a better album if.....
ghosthouse and onhwy61, I stand corrected and thanks.  Memories of that error, I mean, era tend to blur a bit.   And those gentlemen would have made me want to find a way to erase as much of it as possible. ;)I remember RR as guv of CA, where he p...
Interesting article on audiophiles and audiophilia
Hey, look on the bright side, y'all... if it draws more ears into 'the hobby' (or 'quest', if you prefer...), then let's give it a plus, a nod, and move on.  One could wine over the plethora of Bluetooth'd widgets that make music more 'accessible'...
Would "Sgt. Pepper's" be a better album if.....
At the risk of being a nattering nabob of negativity (the only thing RR said that I thought was funny), I find Elton John's cover of 'Lucy' more interesting as a listen.  And "With a Little Help..." was covered in the movie 'The Lathe of Heaven' s...
I wish I had a device that would delay lowering my TT arm
*G* That Decca widget sounds great, but obviously was a real 'niche market' thing.  I'd be surprised if any survived...What would be a potential object that could perform this action?  Not everyone is able to have the TT 'at hand', but it could be...
What are the most outrageous speakers reviews you have ever seen?
...some reviewers seem to have access to 'biological sonic enhancements' that I don't, and that's really irritating to me...
The best tweeter design
Late to the party....wolf__garcia *L* The 'organic approach' isn't for everyone.  Besides, having to replace the bird after every session is really a PIA.....Eric, absolutely right.  The smaller AMT's, esp. the one's made to 'front radiate' only s...
Where to donate electronics in good working order
Habitat for Humanity.  The staff there generally has someone who will recognize 'the good stuff' and price accordingly.I ran into a pair of Infinity floor speakers in mint condition going for what I thought was quite reasonable and would give H4H ...
Pest Inspection
I'm not a doctor, but I look like one.  My Rx is to step up some ring radiators or some hf horns playing UHF sweeps.  Place a large bug zapper in front of the chosen drivers. Place fans near zappers to blow away fried bodies and to blow the stench...
What are the most outrageous speakers reviews you have ever seen?
All of them? *L*  When you get comments like that, it does point out a perspective that does bare some contemplation....;)
