I had a few drinks and bought some speakers
@nonoise Not at all. I've been a musician since my teens and have had a playback system of some type since 8 or 10 yr old. For me, music is not a hobby. It is a lifestyle. She understands that. I'm very glad for that.

@nonoise Floor standing speakers are not a good candidate to sneak in the house. Unless they are the same color...then, maybe. The biggest thing I’ve snuck in was a ScoutMaster TT. Set it up and had it playing when wifey got home. I wanted to see ...
Thoughts on upgrading TT signal chain
How old is the Bronze cartridge? How does the stylus look? Is it worn out? Before getting a step up Tranny you should look into those questions. If the stylus is worn then you can get a new one if the cartridge is not too old. If not, why not look...
turntable upgrade?
FWIW, The phono preamp is as important as the TT & tonearm. Don't know much about yours but its importance is often overlooked.

Product review: REL T series subs - Richer Sounds Blog | Richer Sounds Blog Last of the non-‘I’ subs, the T7 is the biggest sub here, and also sees a number of changes over its smaller brothers. As the only front-firing design here, the T7 ha...

eBay / PayPal: Beware - enough is never enough.
@ clearthinker BINGO. Customer service is no longer available. Companies set up everything for their convenience (& profit). Customer is just a bank account to drain. This is our world today where the big corps have become mostly monopolies, I...
Channel imbalance with turntable playback
@chakster I believe @russ69  is talking about phase inversion. If done in even numbers it balances outIE Conrad Johnson preamps are phase inverted. To get back to phase, you invert the phase at the speakers, R to L & L to R. CJ covers it nicel...
Raven Audio Nighthawk VS Blackhawk
I'm not questioning your experience but I am surprised that one step up the Raven heirarchy gets such improvement. That said, I've not heard the Raven but I do like their philosophy and would like to hear the Blackhawk or Osprey.
