New Preamplifier Testing (Poor sound)
So you're not a believer in the "there's no preamp like no preamp" saying? Nor am I. Sixty days is plenty of time for break in. Leave the system running for 4-5 days. Solid state is safe to do so usually. Thats the best way when in a time crunch.

Is today’s contemporary music lacking?
I agree with bdp24-- I've encountered many highly-talented younger musicians and songwriters in the catch-all genre known as Americana. Most of them are story tellers which goes well in some genre but  is   mostly wasted in R&R. A case in ...

Is your now then?
My experience is quite similar to @ghdprentice.  Incremental changes have slowly upgraded my system & the sound. I research my purchases and make sure they help in a weak area. One step at a time until I believe I could happily demonstrate my ...

Could The Music Room biz model be duplicated? A second TMR?
Anyone remember Jeff's Sound Values. There have been others in the past. And there are others today, as has been pointed out.
Who is ditching their shiny disc spinners?
Thanks @cleeds I assume this is HD FLAC streaming? Still I have plenty of music on the HD. I'll get the streamer working but its frustrated me to the point that I had to walk away for a while.
Who is ditching their shiny disc spinners?
If you are renting your music from Qubuz, etc @ $20 mo.(for now) then streaming MAY be the better route with a good dac. However, IME playing your own music from a HD is ripe with problem usually due to network and software issues.I have 200mbps i...
