Music Hall 9.3 vs 11.3 Turntable
FWIW I had the MMF-7 years ago when it first came out. It was a decent table and got me back into vinyl. But the VPI ScoutMaster blew the doors off of the 7. How much better is the 9? I don’t know. But I really doubt it will run with the ScoutMast...
dust protection for turntables
It is OUTRAGEOUS that these expensive Turntables are sold without dust Protection. Shamefull! Mine would have to be 22 X14 X 16 (W D H) I doubt wifey would like it very much and I certainly don't want to deal with an acrylic cover that big. ....

Caveat Emptor
@jjss49 with all due respect, this is speculation on your part, and painting with a very broad brush It isn’t speculation at all. Grant Fidelity wrote of their experience when they announced they would no longer sell Psvane tubes anymore. The...
Subwoofer Amplifier Guidance
+1 @noromance  I've been running Rel subs from my tubed amps for 12-14 yrs now with no problem  They sound great I had  Rel Storm 3 but they didn't have enough power back then for my size room.  It still sounded good but the new ones are better....
Amp Search and Upgrade
I'd consider upgrading the Node 2i. I think that is your weak spot. I fall short in recommendation except maybe an Aurender. Many have pointed out a big improvement when upgrading from the Node. And I have discovered that the source equipment  oft...
What does a subwoofer solve?
Luxman M900u.  Very happy with the new amp, except for disappointing bass performance. My experience with Luxman was the same. That was in the late 80's. I hated every minute with the Lux. It had no bass line , just a constant thump from the ba...
Is it good to upgrade the crossovers in your speakers?
Thanks @sns
$1500 tube amp for La Scalas?
I’m wondering if there’s an automatic switching box that would allow 1 sub to be used with 2 systems (HT and music). Rel subs have both speaker level and RCA low level connections for both music & HT
$1500 tube amp for La Scalas?
A question about the LaScala's. I looked them up to find their efficiency which is 105db  w3hich any flea watt amp can run. But I found a spec which surprises me which is the frequency response: 51-20,000 Hz Really? Many bookshelf speakers go th...
$1500 tube amp for La Scalas?
+1 @danager & @knotscott Bob Latino ST-70 (or 120) are excellent amps. You can also get a volume control for either. I have the ST-70 and am amazed at it’s sound every time I pull it out to listen. I like it enough to get the Don Sachs Koote...
Have KEF 107s looking give away in Bergen County, NJ
This must be the best introductory post I have seen. Nice If I were nearby I would highly consider them myself. Full range speakers are hard to find today I've posted a picy for you. They should be gone by the evening
Is it good to upgrade the crossovers in your speakers?
@sns et al I have been considering the replacement of the capacitors in my speakers which are approaching 20 yrs old. I’ve always heard that 20 yrs is the life expectancy of caps, thus my concerns. Beside that is that I believe there is a slight ...
Whats on your turntable tonight?
The mix &  Mastering (RL) is as good as any 1/2 speed Master I have. It was shockingly good. What a shame that RL didn't do the Skynyrd releases.     A forgotten Southers Rock band who got some air play for "Mean to your Queenie" song. ...
