Ever feel like a "low dollar" customer that your dealer doesn't think worth their time?
As a former owner of audio stores, I can vouch for the absolute stupidity of some in the business of audio retail. Not only for the rudeness stand point, but the total dismissal of future business because your nose is in the stratosphere while your...
All-in-one integrated, 10-15K range, class A/B only
@highend 666. Mostly, sound quality is lacking on a video shot. That isn't my point. Perhaps (and I cannot be sure of this) what could be valid is "switching" during the same vid. .With all the pieces shelved as seen in your Utube vid, I was cravi...
All-in-one integrated, 10-15K range, class A/B only
@ghasley Consider me a "burbler" of its aesthetics. I know Boulder always attempts to make their designs standout from the rest, looks wise. But their 866 appears to me as an "accordion ". Didn't think it was that necessary to do so and strikes me...
Pass Labs 30.8 or Clayton Audio S-40
Wait, Clayton's are still available? I know Clayton Audio's domain was hacked in 2011/12. I hope he's still in business. His amps were superb.
Why don’t tube amps sound like tubes anymore?
@jond. Yeah this is what singled ended amps do for me as well whether tube or ss.If you get the opportunity listen to the Pass stuff. I believe his I25 integrated is s.e. First set of watts run A so it does not get too hot. Also, there’s the French...
Why don’t tube amps sound like tubes anymore?
@Mozart Fan. Oh, you were talking about the Jadis Orchestra Reference. That’s after my time Paul so I cannot speak with any authority on this unit.Manufacturers change their sonic signature from time to time. You now make me curious of what Jadis i...
Why don’t tube amps sound like tubes anymore?
@mozart fan.Well Paul, I have no experience with what you call a "JOR" integrated amp nor have I ever heard of such. I do have some with Jadis Electronics however. (Unless you are using JOR as an abbreviation for a Jadis amp? Jadis uses numbers to...
Why don’t tube amps sound like tubes anymore?
@MOZART Fan: Can you name the integrated tube unit that sounded so natural to you?I have my reasons to ask and familiar (and sold) many an amp unit "back then".Perhaps we can get to the "why" this was evident to you if I'm familiar with the product.
New Yamaha A-S3200 Integrated Amp ?.
This unit is way different than what you experienced in the past. This Yamaha exhibits a clarity with heft. Its sound is not "smoky" in the least.
If you had to start all over again in this day and age
Pinthift. I too was a musician being a professional trumpet player. I was a bit younger than your son when going professional. Nothing I’ve heard over the years has equaled what I heard in the 15 piece band but that’s ok.My greatest claim to fame ...

Enlighten me here please. Based on Douger's and js's response, can you burn cd's from a streaming service?
Looking for an integrated amp around 4000 to 5000.
If you liked the ARC sound, I think you'd be happy with their Vsi75. I've seen them used in the $6500 range.
If you had to start all over again in this day and age
Thanks ovine. Although my knowledge of traditional equipment and its innards and tech has done me and my customers well throughout the years, I know next to nothing of this new digital stuff.I understood "dac" and "case" in your post but I have no...
If you had to start all over again in this day and age
Ok, thanks Tom.I'll check the forum out as you advise. Just one more quicky though: Say I stream a song into streamer. Does it get stored in there so I can play it back at any point or do I always have to use a streaming network for play back?
If you had to start all over again in this day and age
Please excuse my dumbness but this is all new to me. So I need a streamer. I either have to get one with wifi or wired directly to my modem right? Now I attach this streamer to my cd player dac with what type connectives? ("digital in" means hdmi?...
