Playing 45 rpm on VPI Scoutmaster
Looked around the house and found some shelf liner. Doesn't look all that great, but it's getting the job done. Steve

I thought about doing just that. I need something thin. I tried using a mat from an old turntable, but it's too thick and the arm lift won't let the stylus clear.Steve
What am I hearing
Totally agree with Roger Water's Amused To Death. To me it is the perfect showcase of what Q-sound is capable of. Another Pink Floyd related track is the unlisted track commonly called "Soundscape" by PF fans on the PULSE cassette tape release. It...
Dr. Ebbetts Beatles CD's
Sorry I over reacted in my post. I just hate to see people get ripped off. Paying for a bootleg is just plain wrong if you ask me. The bootlegger is making tons of money and there are no royalties being paid. That being said, I'm a collector of li...
Dr. Ebbetts Beatles CD's
You all are admitting to a crime here I hope you konw that. If the cd's are not licensed by EMI for release they are BOOTLEGS and are illegal to manufacture, sell, and to purchase. Of course I would hope you knew that already and wouldn't be stupi...
Reel 2 Reel
I'd get one that can do both. The Technics 1500/1506/1520 series can play both formats. The 1500/1520 record 2 track. The 1506 records 4 track.

Those of you with 2 track reel2reel machines should check out the tape project. www.tapeproject.comA_L
Reel 2 Reel
I use a Technics 1500. Don't have many reels yet but the ones I do are rare Pink Floyd braodcast tapes.
How often do you folks vacuum clean your albums?
I do manual cleaning of my LP's, with the assistance of the VPI 16.5. It's just there to rotate and vacuum for me. AI's three step proccess with seperate brushes and nozzles for each step. The results are pretty amazing. Yes, a RCM is a costly inv...
Best LP cleaner fluid for fingerprints
Thought I'd update this thread. I bought the Audio Intelligent three step system with the Archivist as the 2nd step. I also purchased three brushes and three vacuum nozzles for my VPI to keep from cross-contaminating. So to experiment, I decided t...
Brag About Your Vinyl Collection
Have two copies of Amused To Death also. One still sealed. Original issues, not the new 180Gram reissues which I'm not even sure if they are legit. A few other of my PF vinyl rarities:WYWH Nautalis Super DiscA Saucerful of Secrets mint US first pr...

An audiophile DVD burner ??
You may want to consider the older Plextor models such as the 716A. It gives the user the ability to adjust the burn quality. The model is no longer made, so you may have to hunt down some new old stock.Steve

Pure Vinyl Software
Unless your vinyl is extremely noisy, so many clicks and pops that you hear more of them than music, I'd not use any software cleaning. Any declicking you do will have audible effects on the music. Also the better built the turntable and cart, the...
