Went to Motor Trend and Road & Track to check out which Porsche fits me best and was referred here. Thank dog. My Karmann Ghia is a '67 and only has 400,000+ miles, but figured what the heck, I do finally deserve a Porsche! Huh? What??
For all you Vinyl lovers!
Thanks for the post yogiboy, it helps to affirm my obsession.  AB
Don't get it, why anyone would ask others "what sounds best"?
P.S. ohm, from reading your post, we have some similarities. Your opinion could matter to me now I know a few of your preferences. ;)

I must admit, MC usually has a good answer for most things, somehow quite adept at going other places too. ohm, you in addition are quite good at the conundrums. It is easier for me to listen, but alas it's still with my ears. Rarely does the post...
VINYL SUCKS!
Jack, real leather smells better but in the car it too gets hot (in AZ). Cloth is best!
Classical Top Five
Jeez, let's now go with the 5 greatest rock bands...1. Beethoven2. Mahler3. Stravinsky4. Mozart5. Tchaikovsky6. J S BachIs that five already?? Doesn't matter who their influence was or when they composed, those weren't caveats.
The Lifespan of an LP?
Been buying vinyl record since 1964. When Capitol records state that they've sold 8 million copies of Sgt. Peppers my audio collector friend and I say hogwash, between the 2 of us, we've owned that many.........Many of the answers and yes, even op...
If your were to assemble a vintage system ?
When I started college (1971) my parents offered to buy me a new (to me) car. Had a '64 VW that was good enough for me so, I inquired about a 'new' stereo system. Reluctantly agreed....McIntosh MAC1700 (who needs AM?)    $600JBL L-100s    $550Pion...
Worst Concerts You Have Attended ??
Just a decade and a half correction, the date for B B King should have read 11/30/2013!
Worst Concerts You Have Attended ??
'72 or so, Z Z Top @ Celebrity Theater Phx AZ Front row, so loud I still have ringing in my ears, excruciating. Left after 2 numbers.'73 or so, Clapton @ an outside venue in Phoenix, can't remember which one, smack and booze, what song is that?11/...
CD player reliability.... good and bad.
I've been using 2 Denon DCM-390's for more than 20 years. OK, so they aren't the high-end single disc Oppos or Brystons, but they work well. After all, they're for listening to CD's...There has been a glitch on occasion, they are 5 disc carousels....
If you hopped into your time machine and brought back audio gear- what would it be?
@oldhvymech;'Scuse me, "Everything is better now?" Please. I have one (of many) that I own. Early JBL L100's with copper hand wound/edge wound voice coils. I have 3 sets of this model (L100's) and in a blind shoot out its easy to tell the differen...
Better Records White Hot Stampers: Now the Story Can Be Told!
@millercarbon & audioguy85;Couldn't agree more. Why bother acquiring a AAA recording only to convert it to AAD (please see 'loaf of bread' analogy)?? Sure, streaming is convenient but not for "listening to music". For background noise at a p...
Better Records White Hot Stampers: Now the Story Can Be Told!
@millercarbon;Not all preowned copies are 'used'. Just recently I sold a Kinks LP that I purchased used because when I removed the disc from the sleeve it was still sealed in a clear perforated plastic inner sleeve (thought it may have been a cont...
Better Records White Hot Stampers: Now the Story Can Be Told!
All true, but not so much. Thru this post, reading each one, no one mentioned the secret trail-off codes. That's probably OK too. Even if you're lucky enough to find that 1A stamper, how was it treated in it's former life (assuming buying a 'pre-o...
