Any recommendation for a CD changer?
I also use a CD changer. I have found and used for close to 30 years, a Denon DCM 390. I enjoy the shuffle feature for my 3000+ CDs. A new lazer was installed a few years ago at the cost of around $200. The Denon is similar to Onkyo units. One is...
A weighty conundrum
To the good people that responded to this and to any of you that find this, I got an answer. My repair technician explained to me that the inner bearings for the arm have defaulted. This turntable has been such a great one (for me) for the last 23...
The greatest Pop song yet written and recorded.

A weighty conundrum
Follow up on my "weighty conundrum". I found both my Ortofon scales and I'm sorry to report that I am unable to get a repetitive reading on any of them. The VTF changes on each measurement even at 15 second intervals...So it's off to see my repair...

Thanks for the response. I do think I have one of these as well as one that came with an old Pioneer turntable I once had. Appreciate your time.  AB

Is simpler better?
After being mystified by some of the people contributing to these topics, this one,by far, makes more sense than all others I've read. I've loved music for more than 60 years and not equipment. Simpler is better. My dad dissuaded me from getting ...

As an retired electronics repair tech, iso the problem one step at a time. Starting at the far end of the chain and working backwards. Speaker, speaker connection, speaker wire, termination at the amp and so on. Always keep in mind that just the a...
Perfect Vinyl Forever
The best service is to handle your vinyl carefully and correctly. That way they should stay clean and won't need anything but to be played and enjoyed.   AB
un-becoming an audiophile
@fertguy, Three Dog Nights' first LP wasn't released until October of 1968. Unless you may of heard them at JD's in the river bottom, live. Was it another artist? 1967 was the 'Summer Of Love'...AB
Beatles vs. Stones
OOPS! Sorry bigtwin, the first comment I was referring to was from onhwy61, not yours. Guess I'd better check on what I'm smokin'!
Beatles vs. Stones
hmmmmm...let's see, how do you like your cheeseburger? onions? pickles? tomatos? Better yet, Cheeseburgers or chop suey? Tacos or hot dogs? Why do these ramblings continue on and elicit so many responses? The Beatles were beat/rock, Stones initial...
