Brinkman Balance Comparisons
Hi Rick,Thanks for your comments and it's too bad we never met at the Vaccum tube show last year. Anyway, I think the Triplanar is a good arm. I have been using it now for about 1 year and it is very easy to use and adjust parameters. Because of t...

Vetterone,Thank you very much for your thorough ecplanation. I have heard good things about the new DD Teres. I wonder if the high torque motors with BD that some people use is a bridge between your traditional low torque BD and a DD.Andrew
Need an Entry Level Phono Preamp
I've heard from reliable sources that the Heed Quasar is one of the best phono preamps for the money. It is compared to stages 2-3 times the price and retails for 1000 USD.Andrew
Is RAVEN TABLE that good over sme or Walker?
Thanks David. I heard an amazing SS phono/line stage recently that made me wonder if certain attributes are possible with tubes.
Is RAVEN TABLE that good over sme or Walker?
Kha,I noticed that you are evaluating some new phono stages. What do you think of the Tron Seven? Does it have the detail and bass strength of the Solid State units?
Experience with Raul's Essential 3150
You're welcome guys. I also noticed the quiteness with the 3150. I get tube rush with the CAT and a little RF leakage. This was completely gone with the 3150. As Mab33 wrote, it was dead quite.Have fun listening this weekend!Andrew
Advantages of Ruby 3H vs Ruby 3?
You will gain close to 12dB improvement in S/N ratio by increasing the output to 0.7mv but you will reduce high frequency extension a little bit but only at levels much higher than 20KHz. in other words, frequency may go up to 60KHz at 0.3 but onl...
Step up above Acoustic Signature Mambo
Couldn't resist one more comment speciifc to this thread. Listening to Raul's preamp showed me that there is a lot more that can be extracted from my Analog system. Based on that, the Mambo is not the weak link and the piece of gear I should chang...
Step up above Acoustic Signature Mambo
Folks,It was an ear-opening experience and very worthwhile. I had some busy work days spilling over into the evening with customers. I'll have a chance this weekend to provide a formal and thorough post. Hang-on.Andrew

Neil,I did this in Stereo. If I had a mono switch I would not use it for the reasons Doug mentioned. This should only work if using a mono record in Stereo preamp operation. It may not be perfect but it did get me close.
Step up above Acoustic Signature Mambo
Dgad,Thanks for your comments here and before. I'm using the Boston Mat-1. I haven't experimented with the Living Voice or others. Maybe I'll give it a try.One of the things that has intrigued me about the Raven is the high torque motor. Conceptua...

Doug, Dan,Here are some comments with respect to azimuth adjustment that were discussed earlier in the recent past of this thread.I finally got around t ocleaning some more of my calssical records and have been now playing some mono recordings. Us...
Step up above Acoustic Signature Mambo
RWD,Thanks for your comments. I think you're right in that I'm at that cusp where 20-40K on speakers would be required to get a major step up in performance.I'm listening to the system right now and it does sound very good. The other thought is a ...
Is RAVEN TABLE that good over sme or Walker?
For those who added Stillpoints to the Raven later, how did this change the sound? Was it noticeable?
