I Find Primalunas Ugly. How about You? Is there an alternative?
One of the parties involved in the manufacture of Prima Luna amps has a sideline in imprisoning winners of the Nobel Peace prize among other nasty things. Beauty is only skin deep but ugly is to the bone!http://https//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_N...
Choices narrowed Rogue RP-1 and Primaluna Prologue Premium Preamps
I would go with Rogue but, of course, you should listen to both and see what is best for you.And please let us know what you think when you do!
New Technics SL 1200 GAE
My understanding is that the GAE and G have the same arm.  Only the feet are different.
Amplification question - PrimaLuna Tubes vs. McIntosh Solid State
Between the two, I would go with the McIntosh, especially for your application.

Considering switching from Audio Research to PrimaLuna, troube with VS115 amp
Since no one answered my question about exactly who is manufacturing Prima Luna in China, I did a little research. From what I was able to find, it seems that Prima Luna is made in the Cayin/Spark factory. Cayin/Spark is a subsidiary of Zhuhai S...

Is the plant where these are made (a "subsidiary of an large areospace company")   owned by the Chinese government or the PLA?  I ask since most of the aerospace firms in China are state owned.
Luxman Audio Gear - what is happening with them here in USA
I was also less than thrilled with the previous distributor.  I am happy with my Luxman integrated though.I look forward to lower prices and better distribution!
Accuphase Integrated Amp - E600 or E470
Last time I looked, it is more than twice the Japanese price in the US!
New Technics SL 1200 GAE
Chakster:  I agree, of course, that the SP10mk2 is a superior sounding turntable to the 1200Mk2.  I just don't think it is as attractive as, say, your Luxman PD 444.  If I could just drive across town to the "Olde Turntable Shoppe" and buy a SP10 ...
New Technics SL 1200 GAE
@andysf I don’t find the looks of the SP 10 to be more attractive, in any case. Really? Maybe the stock technics obsidian plinth is not attractive at all, but if you put your SP-10mk2 in a good wooden plinth (like i did with mine, click here)...
New Technics SL 1200 GAE
I don't own a 1200 GAE but I listened to one for about half an hour in a store.  I don't have much of an opinion about the sound since I heard it mostly on  planar speakesr that a different sound than what I am used to.  Also, it had a new cartrid...
VPI Scout 2 vs. Luxman PD 441
I would keep the Luxman and upgrade the arm.

The Electric Recording Co. ... thoughts on a 300 quid LP
Historically, such things have gone up in value over the years.  I would bet on their classical reissues especially going up in price.  Very small pressings from what I have heard.
