Best used integrated for under $5000
Luxman may have what you are looking for.Accuphase is nice too but very overpriced if you are in the US.
Luxman Integrated?
I use a Luxman 507ux and have been very happy with it.  Source is mostly a Technics 1200G and the phono stage is very good.  Would love to have a Luxman EQ 500 phono pre though!
LOOKING TO MAKE A TURNTABLE CHANGE, HOPEFULLY AN IMPROVEMENT
@stereo5 I believe wcfeil is William Feil,  the same person who once posted under the name "audiofeil".  He is back after a long absence. Some of his posts in the past have been abrasive though I have been told he is actually a nice enough person i...
TNT Hot Rod vs SL-1200G
Between the two tables, I would go with the Technics.I recently bought a Technics 1200G and am very happy with it.  See if you can find one to demo, preferably with a few hundred hours on it.  They do have a break in period!
SL1200GAE New Tonearm
@johnnyb53  Where did you hear that the arm is "aluminum with a magnesium coated finish"?  Everything I have seen says it is magnesium, including the Technics website.
Pioneer PLX 1000 ancestry
@helomech:  I don't know of any evidence that Technics sold off the original tooling for the Technics 1200.  According to Technics, one of the reasons they discontinued its manufacture was that the tooling was worn out.  Since they made millions o...
Can someone explain to me why : Accupahse Equipment is that expensive ?
I don't get all you guys bending over backward to excuse what is clearly an exorbitant markup. There is no other excuse other than greed that I can see.
Can someone explain to me why : Accupahse Equipment is that expensive ?
I researched this about two years ago when I was looking for an integrated amp.  At that time, I could buy two Accuphase amps from Japan for less than the retail price in the US.  And that includes the shipping. The distributor markup is exorbitant...
Technics Sp10 Mk2 vs SL-1200G - I finally did an A/B
Looks good!  I am curious as to why you place a piece of paper under the 45 spacer.  Does it vibrate?
New Funk Firm Achromat Warped
Mine is flat but I remember reading about at least one other that arrived warped.I am sure Music Direct will replace it with no issues.
Magnepan 30.7’s
I heard the Magnepan 30.7 demo at Absolute Audio in Santa Fe last weekend.  I don't usually date speakers that are taller than me but I thought they were very nice  and well worth making an effort to hear.Wendell was very low key-no tiresome 30 mi...
Technics Sp10 Mk2 vs SL-1200G - I finally did an A/B
@pani Thanks for your comments on the Time-Step power supply.  There are very few A/B comparisons from actual owners on the web and those are mostly rather equivocal.  I was hoping you had listened to your table before the operation.I read your re...
are "LONDON" pressings made in the UK, inferior to the Decca pressings
@syntax "London CS was created from Decca because Decca couldn’t use their own name in USA.(There was a small private label which was named Decca). To avoid any problems, Decca decided right from the Start to create for USA a new Name, London."...
Technics 1200G Tweaks
@chakster Always intrigued by your comments on vintage cartridges.  It is on my list to try one but I first have to deal with the wire issues.  Agree that many MM carts are underrated these days.@jsm71 Thanks!  I am very happy with the table, whic...
Technics 1200G Tweaks
@chakster  For stereo I am using a Hana EL.  At some point I would like to get an Art 7, based on all the positive reviews.  Since I am a record collector, I have a number of carts, for mono, 78s, etc.I had a look at the Zu cables on Ebay.  It app...
