Buy LED, LCD or Plasma
Please check out the Samsung UN46B600 or the UN55B8000 and the new wall mount WMN1000b. Is it a flat screen or is it a picture frame? Yes, it's about 1 1/2 " flat and the wall mount is abt another 1" from the dry wall. Better yet, the home galler...
Drill holes in rack shelf to keep amp cool?
I spent $62.00 for 2 cooling fans 120mm which are extremely quite. Put these 2 fans on top of my Onkyo 876 and no more worry abt heat issue. BTW, I use the Sanus audio rack and I have only abt 1.5" clearance on top of the Onkyo. Look up "the coole...
Warm Sounding Surround Receiver
It depends on your speakers and your room acoustic. I have heard the Pio Elite @ BB and I don't know what people work @ BB did but their PIO Elite SC05 and the Def tech are terriblly HARSH. In my room, the Pio SC05 and the Def Tech SM 450 sound wo...
oppo bdp 83 vs pioneer elite dv 58av for listening
Keep you dv58 av for Redbook playback. I prefer my BDP51fd to the DV58av for 2 channel analog playback though. Yes, it's still slow after FW upgrading but within a reasonable loading time.I am looking to acquire the BDP 09 once the price goes sout...
Kimber PBJ pre-amp to amp?
Shunyata offers the Diamond Back Platinum on sale @ 1/2 MSRP . IMHO, it's one hell of a NIB deal. Good luck.
Best Audio quality in Home Theatre Reciever? DVD ?
Not sure about the differences among the three Wolfson, BBr or Crystal DACs but I am very happy with the Wolfson DACs and ICE power of the Pio Elite AVR.
Best Audio quality in Home Theatre Reciever? DVD ?
If you are not happy with the Pio Elite lines (SC05/ SC07) or the Onkyo lines ( 876/ 906 )with your H/T application, I do not see any other products with all the new codecs and room acoustic adjustment ( be it MACC or Audyssey set up ) that will j...
Kimber PBJ pre-amp to amp?
Here is my long time experience with these budget Kimber. Take it with a grain of salt since this is IMS: 1. PBJ is clean, clear ( if you like "extended hi-frequency" )but will be harsh on bright recording. 2. Hero is smoother but carefully listen...
Horns for HT?
BTW, I am thinking abt setting up a second H/T system. The RF 7 now has been discontinued, what's its replacement model ? Thank you.
Horns for HT?
101% agree with Chadnliz. I have seen some H/T set up such as : Yamaha with Klipsch, Pio Elite with Def Tech, Onkyo with Polk audio, Rotel with B & W and IMO, these are good combination for H/T applications.
How to keep ic's and power cords from touching
I agree that cable risers are a " myth". Get the pipe insulation tubes at Home depot. Cut them up acordingly to your liking ( 2" to 4" lenght) then insert your ICs thru the splits on the side of the tube. Nice looking and dirt cheap.
What is it about the Cary SLI-80?
Chazzbo, I was in a "wrong" club few months ago, man tell me about the young generation and re-creation drugs. You think the 60s/70s were BAD, think again. Prescription drugs and alcohol are the NO-NO but.... it's wild outhere in a different form....
difficulty finding CD player match for Magneplanar
Listen to me please. Do not go by spec since spec does mean much. I used to own the Martin Logan Aerius I and the SL3. While the Parasound & B&K & Sunfire could drive the Aerius I but not the SL3 to its optimum. I tried them in my own ...
difficulty finding CD player match for Magneplanar
This is new to me. Never heard of CDP to match one's speakers. Any plannar, electrostatic, ribbons will require some real juice to get their optimum SQ as most others have said. If you like the Adcom sound, step up to 200WPC. I would look at the B...
Audacy room correction. Corrected?
I didn't have much experience with the Audyssey room correction set up ( done only twice with the Onkyo 805) but I did not like the way the Audyssey sets up my crossover of on of my NHT M5, so I manually set them all at 60Hz as the M5 manual recom...
