Which multichannel amp to buy Just got the TGA 5200 brand new in factory sealed box and A stock for $1,299.00 including shipping. Sunfire replaced the 5200, 5400 with the 5201 and 5401...you should have no problem to get he 5400 for less than $2,000.00 from an authorized dealer.
Denon AVR1708/3808 vs Onkyo TXSR575/875 matchup? ? Funny thing is I bought the Onkyo 805 for HT but for 2 channel listenning, in my set up the 805 sounds pretty awesome and I like the 805 better in 2 channel audio than in multi-channel HT . When listenning to clean and bright Etta James " All the ...

Onkyo 805 set up help, please Thanks guy. After increasing the input volume up to +2db, the 805 sounds pretty good for the money. Little hot but no POP, no sparks...It may be a keeper for my HT for a while.
Next step in upgrading my home theater system?? If separated amps & pre-amp/ processor are within your budget then stay away from AVRs. I just took the Onkyo 805 home this morning. After playing around with different soundtracks and movies, this baby is going back. I would not buy another r...
NHT X1 and X2 The W2 subs are the passive ones and the X1 is a part of the U2 package deal for the Evolution lines. I am planning to use the pre-out from the processor to the input of the X1 then from the hi-pass output L/R of the X1 loop back to the multi-chan...
NHT X1 and X2 Hi Bob, good to hear from you again. I am back. Somehow the HT bug got me while I tried to get out of the audio hobby. I guess I would need to buy the X2 for my Classic line speakers and leave my x1 alone with the M5s. Thanks again, Bob.
NHT in Home Theater Setup I bought three of the M5 for the HT set up and I am very dissapointed as comparing to the Super Zero I owned some ten years ago. I have nothing but Bright and forwarding and super thin sound from these M5s...I can only use them for the movies with...
How to get rid of Bondini residual glue ? Tks, Photon. My new " BLACK" face-plate looks soooo good and I don't want to pay another $200.00 for another face-plate. I am going to order just the plastic window from BAT . Now the other problem I have is to remove the plastic window from the f...
Why are LCDs more popular than plasma? Sorry, guys. DLP and plasma are on the way out. Talk to those manufacture reps not TV salesman and see what they say about DLP and plasma. LCD is a way to go if you start from scratch. Look for better contrast ratio and better response time and yo...

Electrolytic capacitors In another thread, there is some suggestion about the Variacs to power up SS amps that have been in storage for a while. Would some one please tell me how to find out about the value of the electrolytic caps inside the amps ? I was lucky with my l...
Anybody know the Descartes amp? Don't know nothing about Descarte amp but I like Pascal amps better with the beaufiful engraves on the face-plate :" Le coeur a des raisons que la raison ne connait pas"
Audio Horizons TP 2.0 Preamplifier Please be gentle with me my audiophile friends. I am considering to buy the Rogue 99/ Halcro Mc20 to drive my LFT ET8bs. I owned the Bp26/ 4BSST/ Paradigm S2 and sold them all in a month. Huge soundstage but kind of flat and imaging is not quite "...
Class-D amps - a different re view I wonder what Mr. Colloms will say about the Halcro next. I have a chance to audition the entry level Hacro Mc20/ Rogue 99 pre-amp/ Esoteric CDP with my LFT ET8b at the local hi-end dealer and I cannot believe what I am hearing. Ten years of lovin... |
