I need ccf codes Pronto classic for Theta Carmen
OK this is a long shot but if you are desperate, you can try :) Open up your Carmen CDP and take a look at the control board. Most high end CDP makers buy in control boards from other companies. e.g if it has a Sony control board, try downloading ...
Cary 306 SACD: Open the cover
Tran if i'm not mistaken you have to remove the feet altogether. The screws actually live in holes, so you need a screwdriver which is skinny enough to fit in the hole. Keith
Cary 306 SACD: Open the cover
Worldcup ... see those four spiked feet? Unscrew and remove them. The screws that hold the case shut live under there. As for why the tray won't open - it's a common problem. What happens is the tray tries to come out at an angle and gets stuck in ...
Need opinions on a tube amp for Wilson WP8
What kind of sound do you like? Valve amps can give you anything from traditional fat and warm sound (triodes), to something remarkably SS-like (big pentode amps), and everything else in between. The WP's like a bit of juice so on first blush eith...
Amplifiers for B&W 803D/802D
Sargentfriday I have the same pre and power amp as you :) But I am not using B&W's. There are two ways to suppress the brightness - one is by tube rolling, but the better way would be to cover up your windows with curtains. If you are using th...
CES08: Room: 30-127: Acapella, Einstein system
I have a pair of these as well. I'm not sure what Rlawry means by a robust sounding horn, but mine sounds incredible - delicate, fast, and timbrally very accurate. I have heard my speakers with more than half a dozen different amplifiers so I know...
The Anatomy of the Acapella Violon - shocking find
Couple of months down the track, and I have had the opportunity to try a number of different tweaks on this speaker. To cut a long story short: none of them have fixed the bass problem. Anyway, this is what I have tried: - PAUL SPELTZ AUTOFORMER. ...
Sota Millenia vs Kuzma Stabi reference vs VPI HRX
Hi Shane. I have read elsewhere that the VPI HRX is a bit dry sounding. Also, I want vacuum hold-down. The Sota seems to tick all the boxes for me.
Sota Millenia vs Kuzma Stabi reference vs VPI HRX
Sirspeedy I should probably divulge that I used to own a Sota Sapphire. This was a pretty old model, bought new about 15 years ago. There were a number of things I did not like about it, most of all the rather jiggly suspension. I do not know if m...
Sota Millenia vs Kuzma Stabi reference vs VPI HRX
Sorry for the grave-dig. I am considering either the Kuzma Ref or the Sota Millenia. Nrchy, I am curious why you recommend the Cosmos over the Millenia?
SNEAK PEEK: Lansche 4.1 Loudspeaker
Csommovigo there will always be a plurality of opinions as to whether it is acceptable or not. I enjoyed your post because at least I know there is someone out there who knows about a speaker which has intrigued me. If you have more to say, please...
SNEAK PEEK: Lansche 4.1 Loudspeaker
You're a very lucky man, Chris! It is interesting that you say that the midrange matches the plasma tweeter. I just looked at Lansche's website and they claim that the conventional electromagnetic driver they are using is of their own design. Very...
Is two Subs better than One?
Two subs will even out the bass response in the room. Also, each sub won't have to work as hard since you will be winding down the volume on each. So yes, two subs is better.
Comparison Cary 306, Wadia 581, EMM Labs CDSA
Thanks for checking back in, Cappucino. Is your Accuphase burnt in yet? It might get even better with time. I have a Cary 306. I am really happy with it but I have been itching to see what else is out there. I know the Accuphase tone is beautiful,...
No bass in the Proac Response 3
I agree with Onhwy61. Your amp should have enough juice to drive the ProAc's. Probably a speaker-room issue. Maybe you are sitting in a bass node? Try walking around the room to see if the bass improves. I know someone who added a subwoofer and co...
