Stereo Times list of the " 2020 MOST WANTED COMPONENTS"
I've read several very positive comments and reviews regarding the LSA 20 Signature speakers listed in the article.  Has anyone here listened to these speakers or own these speakers?  If so, what are your comments or opinions these speakers?  Than...
Is Carl Bernstein an Audiophile?
I am beginning to hate this forum. Just "beginning"?  A little late to the party, Scott.  Chuck makes sure of that....
Is Not Responding To An Offer Just Plain Rude?
@arizonabob and @bubba12,"Seems many of you change your audio systems like I change my socks.""If I offer 60% after months on Audiogon you should be thrilled."I'm late to this conversation, but you guys took the words right out of my mouth!  You e...
Recommendations for a modestly priced analog system
@chungjh,You have received some excellent advice and a great deal of suggestions and ideas to consider; I'm sure it can be overwhelming to try and digest all you've read.  The advice and recommendations you're seeking is a bit unique and int...
Budget tower speakers that rock!
I'm giving another nod for you to look at Fluance speakers made in Canada.  Well built and good sounding at very wallet-friendly prices.  Last year I set up a fourth listening room in my house that was a very simple analog setup -- Integrated Tube...
Suggest an entry - midrange Preamp (tube as well as SS) for a McIntosh power amp
The Freya+ would be a great option even if you hadn't opened the vault to get a McIntosh amplifier.  The fact that you did (and I'm very jealous) tips the scales greatly in Schiit's favor. The Freya+ plays way above its pricepoint in sound quality,...
The conclusion I've reached about speakers
@oldhvymec:Everyone knows God loves Jazz! Just no Yoko Ono singin’ in heaven.. That’s for sure.. Heaven’s only rule, no Yoko Ono Singin’. Yoko Ono yes, her singin' NO!!!"Turning back the clocks and adding an extra hour to 2020 is like getting a bo...
Is 1990's equipment vintage?
"But I’d still love to have that 53 ’vette parked in my garage."A-Freaking-Men, @brownsfan. For me, it’s a ’68 Charger with the 426 Street Hemi engine, or a 1970 Ford Torino Cobra with the 429 Super Cobra Jet Drag Pack engine. THOSE, are vintage A...
Do active speakers interest you? Also, let's talk directivity
This is one of the most interesting discussion threads I have read on this site.  It has been most informative reading the back and forth answers.  Plus, you smoked kenjit and he hasn't chimed back in -- which I consider a victory for you.  Please...
Relative Spending on Turntables and Cartridges
So....Since I spent $75,000 on my table, I’ve got to spend $100,000 on my cartridge. I only spent $11,000. @wolfie62, Your comment above immediately brought to mind one of the greatest scenes from the groundbreaking FX drama, "Nip/Tuck".  This ...
Can I use 24 gauge speaker cable?
I even think I’m the last one to laugh, as there are seriously people who believe their system will sound like a Grand Opera House because they spent literally tens of thousands of dollars on a couple of feet of cable, putting them on tiny wooden ...
l just discovered another one of the record companies dirty tricks?
Good Grief!  This post makes me wish another member would start an argument over cables.
Need help finding a phono/preamp
@endless108 , you will not be disappointed with the Schiit Mani.  I just received another one to hook up with my 1987 Rega P3 driving a vintage pair of Klipsch Forte II's.  The system is a "house warming" gift to my 29 year old son and his fiancée.
Should people who can't solder, build or test their speakers be considered audiophiles?
In addition, while I might not be able to identify, fix, or modify all the parts of my Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye Hemi engine and Supercharger -- I damn well know I'll leave your pansy Porsche in a cloud of burnout smoke.
Should people who can't solder, build or test their speakers be considered audiophiles?
I actually had to read the original post three times to make sure I wasn't missing a hidden joke.  If you truly think a person can't be an Audiophile unless they have the knowledge to open up any audio component and make any repair or modification...
