Share MYSTICAL, HAUNTING songs @dweller+1. l like this list but I was just not seeing someone. Peter Gabriel. I'll take that as one of his most haunting. Maybe the song Intruder but that's plain creepy.
Raven Audio and Beyond... To be clearer, the Raven's HP filter is selectable on the back.
Raven Audio and Beyond... Another thing to know is that the Raven includes an on board high pass filter to the mains set at 80 hz. This would provide quite a boost in available power to your x14s that are not "full range" speakers. Then pair an affordable sub or two. Wh...
Guess How Big My Speakers Are @erik_squires yep, I recall another post of yours. I've got the "Lee Taylor" version. I don't have the room to keep as far from the wall but have highly dampened the ports with fill. Had good extension with subs so room may be behaving different...

Guess How Big My Speakers Are @erik_squires what is the volume of your cabinets? I too run Scanspeaks in ported but don't have your measurement equipment to compare to my room. Your stated dimensions are speakers / position. What is room?
Way above my pay grade, Sound waves no longer transverse or perpendicular? @theaudiotweak for sure but that's my point. You can (did) place real physical boundaries etc and generate that vector redirection. Not seeing what that is this doesn't mean you produced shear in air. Producing laminar flow isn't a shear/compr...
Way above my pay grade, Sound waves no longer transverse or perpendicular? Ok, I read it and mostly theoretical at this point. Note use of "under certain conditions", "he conceived of "meta-atoms", "synthetic shear". So the notion relies on these meta-atoms that have boundaries or discrete packets within the (air) med...
Nietzsche and Runaway Audio Consumption Conspicuous consumption for appearances is not to be endorsed but in his own words: "in the poorer and the uncultivated – who at bottom are envying culture and fail to recognize the masks as masks – and gradually prepare a social revolution: for ...
How do you get Happy as an Audiophile? Great responses. Lots of +1s. I'm a bit of both. I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I love a well thought out upgrade or tweak that pays off in spades. I reach for that reference (to me) material to marvel at the SQ. A bit of A Nervosa. Bu...
Products you added to your system in 2021 that made most impact to your music enjoyment Ortofon Red to Bronze on Project Debut Carbon. First, Red was a big improvement over Blue but Bronze yielded some too. TT prob limiting my upgrading from here. Next year? Migrated from Rogue Sphynx v3 to Raven Blackhawk Mk3. Sphynx no slouch ...
Subwoofer cable question OP, no the speakers aren't daisy chained after the sub in the REL hi power set up. Their preferred connection is to run the leads back to the same speaker taps used for the mains. The amp isn't supposed to "see" the additional load. Go to REL we...
Subwoofer cable question I agree that sub freq are not locatable so it would seem that one output might work. But if there are two identical "low" signals in the outputs or as suggested, they are kept different for stereo, wouldn't it still be true that half of the vo...
Why are there no tube televisions anymore? I think someone compared tweaks to religion. Some people just don't know about not discussing/comparing politics and religion here.Thy name is jasonbourne54. It's not about superiority oldhvymech. That's not how I read it.
Why are there no tube televisions anymore? My take on this is a bit different, not about the tech but maybe applicable nonetheless. Recently had to change provider and cable vs streaming etc. Lots of different qualities to be seen across offerings. Sure i/we watch them all and complain... |
