Has there been any inexpensive item that enhanced your system's sound? Thanks Meerzistar. I think replacing is the best thing as you are really suggesting I think. I did use Deoxit on all my AC cable connectors and that was a big help. But I have so far not tried to clean the wall socket receptacles. And listenin...
Has there been any inexpensive item that enhanced your system's sound? How best do you clean an AC outlet?
VAC 160iSE integrated with NOLA speakers Rcprince, was Kevin talking about the 160iSE or the Phi200 upgrade to 200IQ?
VAC 160iSE integrated with NOLA speakers Yes, worth finding out. I heard from Mike Oltz that IQ is a possibility for the 160iSE, but that it may not be available yet. Hopefully the size of the chassis is not a constraint.
VAC 160iSE integrated with NOLA speakers Knghifi, Kevin makes many interesting comments in it about the things they did to deliver the best sound - optimizing separation of various sections, special parts, the new IQ system, and internal bracing to minimize resonance, etc. Worth reading.
VAC 160iSE integrated with NOLA speakers JMCGrogan2:I can vouch for the Furutech Nano Liquid. Don't know anything about the Stabilant treatment you used. I got the best impact from cleaning and treating my speaker posts which were dirty and the speaker cables, as well as all digital ca...
VAC 160iSE integrated with NOLA speakers Interesting interview with Kevin. Thanks for the link.He was also interviewed in TAS. Did you see that? That was interesting too.
VAC 160iSE integrated with NOLA speakers KngHifi, yes, I believe the transformers in the 160iSE are the same as in the Statement gear, so probably the Lundahl statement level ones. Your 200IQ sounds like it must be great, perhaps better than my integrated I suppose. As I understood it, ...
VAC 160iSE integrated with NOLA speakers Glad to hear that you like the SE John. I still love the sound of mine for sure. Recently I cleaned out all my power and signal cable connectors with Deoxit, then cleaned with 99% alcohol, and finally put some Furutech nano liquid on the signal ...
VAC 160iSE integrated with NOLA speakers FWIW as an update I went back to using the stock VAC fuse from the SR Red fuse and now find myself actually liking those best.
Simple advice you should have, but didn't follow that made a big difference. Deoxit D100 does a very nice job cleaning on all power cable and interconnect cables. I just cleaned every cable connector and some easy to clean receptacles too. After cleaning with Deoxit, I wiped each connector clean with 99% isopropyl alcoho...
Tidal equivalent for Classical? I am very curious - how does the sound on these various services compare to a decently-set up high end computer server containing ripped 16/44 tracks? I have a MacMini server that is somewhat tweaked but not tweaked to the max as some have done. ...
Where can I send my tubes for testing? Many tube dealers will also do tube testing. A very good dealer of this kind is TC Tubes in Minnesota. I have sent Tyler and Chelsea tubes several times for testing. They do a couple of different levels of testing depending on what you need.The...
Does such a speaker exist? You might check out NOLA KO. I believe there is a NOLA KO2 now. Look at this link.http://parttimeaudiophile.com/2015/10/25/rmaf-2015-nolas-knockout-ko2/I have the NOLA Metro Grand 2 and love it. I have heard the older KO which was great too, maybe...
Valve/Tube Newbie There is another possibility. One might like an exposed tube amp, as I do, so that the logistics of swapping tubes are easy. And that is something that the VAC responds very well to. |
