Humminguru record cleaner
I'm willing to bet HG will offer up another level up for more money eventually.
Just compared Monster M2.2 and ZU Mission speaker cables
After a month the Monster 2.2's sound AMAZING. I do believe cables actually need "re-broken in" if stored away for years. I feel the cables, although sounded great when I first hooked them up, has "smoothed" out a bit. Now, I'm not saying the 2.2'...

What happens when the stylus tip wears out on a $12,000 cartridge?
@mulveling Ahhh that makes sense. I did some research the Concorde  200 MC cartridge did have a removable stylus and so did a Sony MC (70's). So I'm guessing from what you said, if it were practical and worry free we would still be seeing them.
What happens when the stylus tip wears out on a $12,000 cartridge?
I’m no cartridge expert.... Is it even possible to build a MC cartridge with a removable stylus like MM’s? I’m guessing not or there would be plenty out there. I recentlu learned that early Ortofon Concordes were MC. Who knew
Does a turntable mat make any difference?
So my question, If one buys an aftermarket mat and you have the same amount of "sound" coming from the playing surface with volume down, then you really are not gaining anything? I can hear the record playing slightly having my ear near the headsh...
Moving Magnet Phono Cartridges
The 540 is a fantastic cartridge. Probably the best value out there. Plus, you can just replace the stylus. Enjoy your new 540
Heritage Cornwall Iv's vs ZU Audio Omen Defs
Thanks for the info
Heritage Cornwall Iv's vs ZU Audio Omen Defs
The Cornwalls sound natural and alanced..not like a PA speaker (due to horns) correct?
Speakers 10 years old or older that can compete with todays best,
I’m guessing most 10 year old speakers vs a current model of the same speaker is probably less about technology improvement and more about slight "sound " changes depending on the speaker engineer handing the model at a given time. Just like any o...
New Phono Cart with Character Needed
Myself, I'm thinking the Shelter 501 iii may be a good choice. I buy a new Cartridge every two years. My 1200GR Tone Arm is not a good match for an SPU or Denon 103.    Fremer did a review a few years back: https://www.analogplanet.com/content/g...
The Sound Quality Of Commercially Pre-Recorded Reel-To-Reel Albums
I have had numerous pre recorded R2R tapes back in he day. Some good, some not so good. Unfortunately, back in the 60's and 70's and probably 80's, many tape editions were afterthoughts. Although some name Mastering Engineers did do a "Tape Duplic...

Lowest priced MC thats better than a Premium MM?
@billstevenson I think the reason I wanted to try an MC is because all over the various forums there a "you are missing out on something" attitude by some by using a MM. I see there are a few using Denon 103's or the ZU modified versions on 1200gr...
Would used Shunyata Anaconda CX power cables still be a good choice at right price?
I may make an offer and see what happens. There's a nice pair (selling separately) here on AG however, I'm not certain the owner will take what I have to offer.
