@soix  I have to agree with you. The Monster M2.2's (Dormant for many years) that I purchased have been playing daily for a couple of week's now and I swear things are opening up even more. Could be my ears...however, I was doing some serious lis...

Preamp Gain issues with high efficiency speakers
I had a similar problem with ZU Omen Defs with a sper High gain amp (STA200). I placed a Schitt passive pre amp between my main pre and power amp and adjusted accordingly. Worked like a charm https://www.schiit.com/products/sys

What was the first power cable that you noticed a difference in the sound?

@jafant I do remember BOSE 901's were heavily advertised back in the day. I believe how I started getting those famous DAK catalogs was responding to a Stereo Review ad. Those were the days :)

@jl35 I saw a couple of reviews. I cannot remember if Monster were big advertisers in the audiophile magazines or not. I was a Stereo Review Subscriber in the late 70's and 80's, but do not remember the ads.

@jafant I'm going to install them after the holiday. I'll have time to do some serious listening and will report back.
