K &K Audio Phono Stage Upgrade Wow. This is really mind-blowing. I was just about to post a thread on this very topic when I saw this. I have had the K&K phono stage for a little over one year. For those that don't know, the K&K is nearly identical to the Art Audio Viny...
Results from Beta Testers of New Formulas I am not one bit surprised that you've taken the approach that you have, Mr. Frumkin. But please, go ahead, berate me, berate my past views. It is evidently transparent that yours is an attempt to shroud your inability or unwillingness to answer t...
Results from Beta Testers of New Formulas I read through the entire thread in some detail. Your interest in the topic is obvious and in playing devil's advocate perhaps was meant to stimulate more discussion, BUT your tone is antagonistic and uncalled for. If you developed a formula that ...
Results from Beta Testers of New Formulas The "latest and greatest" vinyl cleaning fluids about which the developer refuses to answer questions - questions that went unanswered in a previous thread - a thread that has somewhat less than mysteriously disappeared.
Nottingham Spacedeck with "heavy kit"? I wouldn't take one with a heavy kit if it came for free. IMO, the original Spacedeck tromps the "heavy" in every respect - pace, timing, detail, slam - everything. I owned both and did a lengthy comparison with a more than a few arm/cartridge com...

Beatles "Butcher Cover" on Antiques Road Show My sister has one that she bought at S.S. Kresge for about the same price, but it isn't in such good condition that it would be assumed at first as fake. Probably VG++, though.
Record-playing Rituals? I have become aware that I should provide an update to an earlier post that I made where I recommended using a couple of household cleaners (i.e. Dawn) as record cleaning agents as a precursor to using Record Research Labs fluids. I have since lea...
RRL Cleaner, Vinyl Zyme, and Groove Glide Aroc, you stole my line..... :-)
In this corner Groove Glide... I agree completely with Albert. On Lp's on which I apply LAST, I follow the same procedure as LAbert using RRL fluid. LAST is meant to be a record preservative, as in preserving the vinyl. I think, and correct me if I am wrong, but GruvGlide is no...
RRL Cleaner, Vinyl Zyme, and Groove Glide Shasta and Sean, from my experince RRL Fluids do not leave behind any residue of any kind when used in conjunction with a vacumm cleaner - unlike MANY other fluids I've used. DD fluids do, even after rinsing with distilled water, again in my exper...
RRL Cleaner, Vinyl Zyme, and Groove Glide Did you try using JUDT the RRL and skipping the enzyme. Unless I miss my guess, doing so will allow you to realize th esame detail with out "moving back ten rows".
moving your LP collection When boxing them, alternate every 10 Lp's or so in order that the spines are not all facing the same way. You'll get more in each box and they will fit with less "dead space". Oh yeah, and mark them by whatever method you divide your LP's.
What happened to Discwasher? I've seen them on E-Bay too, along with the brush. I bought one a while back to remove towel lint from sink-washed/towel/dried records before my RCM step. I have a bottle of the fluid which is unused. Toss me a couple-o-bucks for shipping and it's...
LP storage? What do you use? Fully agree with Agaffer. Some time ago, I asked at a local record store about front-facing shelves. The guy told me that they had miles of them in a warehouse from when the store was all-vinyl and said that if I stopped by they'd sell me as many ... |
