Any new turntable brands we should pay attention to ?
I don't know if they have been out for over 5 years but Shinola Runwell turntables look like a solid design to me. I think they partnered with VPI for the basic design.https://www.shinola.com/audio/turntable.html
Anyone have any info on new music servers coming out soon ?
See my post here...https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/dac-streamer-mqa-wireless-besides-bluesound. All of these companies will be offering a dac/streamer of some kind very soon (with MQA). As you will see, many already have but should add more...
Best speakers for Pioneer SX-1250 receiver
Klipsch Heresies would really rock (as oblgny stated) but might sound brittle at high volume. I would try them or maybe a pair of Bose 901s on stands. That would be a fun system. BTW I had the 901s and the equalizer help smooth out the freq band i...
Curious about older "world class" D/A converters
I think the coloration of the sound from any digital source component has to involve many factors. Of many factors, these four are what I think about most.1 The ability and expertise of the designer/engineer. (I think Mike Moffat of Schiit audio a...
DAC>Streamer>MQA>Wireless besides Bluesound
Goose - If you are looking for "a little higher level DAC solution" than the Bluesound I would read about and/or audition the PS Audio Perfectwave streamer with the Bridge II card. That combo will take you to a higher level and more refined sound....

Bluesound Node 2 question
Look at the Western Digital My Cloud series. There are many, many options there and the unit was kinda easy to set up. I have the 4tb version. To give you an example of how the Bluesound products use files on the drive, my files look something lik...

Where to back up my library?
I have a Bluesound Node 2 as my streaming device. But, not unlike you, I was worried about backing up all my digital files I play with the Node 2. I opted for a Western Digital MyCloud 4tb NAS device. This acts as your own personal cloud (basicall...
Bluesound Node 2 question
Yes the Node 2, for me, was the solution to my computer problem. I did not want to use my computer (Itunes and a library of music on a HDD) with my stereo. I wanted to play all my music, Spotify streaming, my digital music files (most of which cam...
Anthem 225 vs Parasound A21 vs Emotiva Xpa 7 Gen 2
Mancub1 - just wondering from your last post "what kind of music system you are trying to build"? A home Theater add on amplifier or a two-channel stereo rig? On the one hand, you had mentioned sacd playback and later described many speakers of di...
Good set of speakers for tube amp/preamp
Just my two cents... quite a coincidence as of late here on agon that I have many of the gear mentioned on the forums. I have a tube integrated amp (Line Magnetic 216ia) and Magnepan MMGs and Vandersteen 2ce Sig II. I have the Vandys paired with t...
Pioneer Elite DV-79avi -- Rotel cd14 -- Rotel Rcd-1572
Hey look at the Tascam CD-200. It’s new, its a professional CD player and it is $250 on amazon. If you can connect an external DAC thats a bonus. That looks like a great bargain transport.
System Upgrade Recommendations
If your end goal is to have both a 2 channel High fidelity system and a Home Theater system than you should seperate them to get the best out of each system. You have a pair of great speakers, but you will not hear what they can do through the pre...
