To pricey
IMO many OP's will start a silly thread then abandon it. It's a bit like crazy ridiculous conspiracy theories get started....like the one the rich twitter fart just started. These things are started to elicit a response, then abandoned. I guess ea...
To pricey
grislybutter, you make a good point.
To pricey
Do you mean "too pricey"? Sorry it's hard for me to think that if one can't pick or articulate the right words, how can one afford and appreciate a really good expensive speaker?
Considering Towers in the $3000 range
Good luck with the MA silver! I have some MA bronze for my home theatre, but decided against HT and now the pair is split! One pair just doing stereo in my living room with the TV and a pair in the home office. Great brand!!!
Can someone help me pick out my first speakers?
Yep I fully agree with @hoosierinohio. and @12many. You must listen to speakers before you buy them... if you can.  And what someone likes in terms of sound is really different for everyone. Klipsch, Magnepan, Devore Audio, Wilson, B&W and so ...
Why would a moderator remove a cable review?
Funny that political comments are barred because they are not related to audio and also inflammatory ( I can understand that) but I see political ads on Audiogon. ??????
Considering Towers in the $3000 range
I have the Tekton Double Impact SE and the Vandersteen 2CE Sig II. Both these speakers are recommended here but offer a different presentation. Vandy's are more laid back. The Tektons have more bass and deeper and more upfront sound. They would ma...
Shipping 80lb amps.
Yep I agree with the previous two posters. Ship double boxed and freight. I think it’s a bigger responsibility for both buyers and sellers to spend the extra time and money to go the full measure... to go overboard... when shipping items both expe...
5 Dumb Things Audiophiles Believes.
An arrogant guy talks about arrogant audiophiles?!? I think I can't take him seriously because I just don't like arrogance. I listen to my stereo and it's fun and relaxing.
Thoughts about the "Cheapaudioman" on YouTube
I see cheapaudioman as an audio reviewer for the blue collar guy, maybe the average audiophile. There are plenty of reviewers for the white collar guy (who has a bigger cash wad to spend). And of course the ridiculous reviewers who rate $20k cable...
Where did you buy your first audio gear?
Really cool to see all those small Hi-Fi stores, many I am sure are gone... tragically. And the great classic audio components and brands....wow I guess I am an old timer. This is when and where we got infected.... haha!
First Streamer...
johndyson, I have the original Rega Apollo CD player. Although it is good, the Wolfson DAC is dated now. My Node 2 and Schiit Bifrost 2 together sound a couple of notches better. In fact the internal DAC in the newest Node 2 would IMHO sound bett...
First Streamer...
Like some here I have the Bluesound system. I have a Node 2 in one HI FI system and a Vault in another.. I have ripped all my CD’s to the Vault. Interesting note, if one has a hard drive with music on it, like I did with CD’s ripped to Itunes, the...
Magnepan .7 Alternatives
Look at Tekton. I have maggies and vandersteen and bought a pair of Double Impacts SE. Wow, big bass slam with clarity. Get the 4 ohm of whatever model will fit your space. IMO. I have not let go of my MMGs or Vandys. I think the sonic signature i...
What Gear is Universally Adored?
nyev Okay I am going to contribute and please no offense meant to your choice of words. Although I don’t own them I would really, really like to try Volti Audio Vittora speaker system. I think the Magico speakers belong on your list (just pick ...
