$3500 floor standing speakers used. What would be your choice ? I have Tekton Double Impact SE speakers and I think they sound fantastic. Lots of kick. Did not have a problem with Eric and had great customer service. I understand those who don’t like him or his products, although I think many have not heard th...
$3500 floor standing speakers used. What would be your choice ? The sky is the limit and there are so many used speakers to choose from it would be hard to listen to them all. I like Vandersteen and Ohm. For rock and your tube amp, the Tektons would certainly match well. A used or new Salk would be on my list ...
Hearing Aids troutbum- Congratulations on making this choice! I would be very surprised if you didn’t really like these devices. If you keep an open mind, a new world awaits you.
The Audio Science Review (ASR) approach to reviewing wines. There are any number or audio equipment reviewers that could be ignored just as easily as ASR. Then again any audio equipment manufacturer claims and advertisement could also be ignored as well as dealers hype. You provide a good analogy. I think ...
Why are DAC's so much more expensive than transports? I am going to be a bit of an outlier here and feather ruffler. I had a friend one time who was a bit on the wealthy side. He had a very good education and a very good business. He traveled extensively. He took a trip to Europe with his wife and sh...
Turntable Upgrade One of the main things I had found out when searching for an analog rig was that there are many avenues to explore to get great sound. I am not anti direct drive nor am I anti belt drive (as these systems seem to be the main ones) Also I am not li...
What's the weakest link in my stereo set up? I live in a townhome, so limited on space. Many here will ask questions similar to these? What do you think you are lacking? Dynamics, bass, soundstage etc, etc? What kind of music do you listen to? Would your speakers be close to a wall or can you have them out in the room? Stands? Are yo...
Dusting gear and turntable Try the California (original)car dash duster for automobiles. It’s red and oval shaped. It’s what I use and it’s great. Around $12.
Hearing Aids If one were to stop and think about the possibility of hearing loss or hearing deficiencies and how much that can impact life then obviously getting a proper hearing test and professional guidance should lead to more fulfillment in all facets of l...
"The room can totally wreck, or make, a system" I would add this. “A person’s hearing ability can totally wreck or make their audio system “. My gut feeling tells me that many audiophiles having hearing deficiencies but don’t correct them.
Installed A Kiseki Black Heart Today. Lovely Cartridge There is an old saying. A bit overused and cliche but often true. “They don’t make them like they used to”. Seems like you put together a very nice analogy rig. I bet it sounds exquisite.
Do I need anything additional to my setup for my pro-ject debut 3 turntable? Pro-ject Phono Preamp Tubebox Ds2 or Ds3. Both are very good IMO.
Hearing Aids Jabra makes an OTC hearing aid for about $1700 on Amazon. I think the Enhance 300. Apple also makes one now. I have ReSound but they are expensive and the VA pays for them. You are correct, they help immensely.
A little puzzled by my newly acquired Yamaha A-S801 The best integrated powerful amps I have had are Musical Fidelity M6500i and the Rogue Atlas magnum III. The Rogue is a tube amp, but it’s a brute at both ends of the spectrum.
2025 Rock-N-Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees Football, Rock HOF, UFC, sports of all kinds just does not interest me anymore. They are full of corruption and politics and ridiculous to the core. I would still attend a pee wee football game... that's usually fun. |
