Integrated Amp Jumpers
Okay, after one listening session with the Audioquest jumpers, I am satisfied that they are an improvement over the steel stock jumpers.Better highs which add to the imaging, and vocals are improved as well.  I can't speak to bass response since I...
Integrated Amp Jumpers
Well I'll jump in too.  This is an old thread, but the subject matter is pertinent still.  I've ordered the Audioquest jumpers for my Nad C326BEE to replace the stock steel jumpers.  I've tried IC's and did notice improvements with some.  But they...
Modern Tannoy, are they good?
No, Tannoy is not about to close.  They closed their factory in Scotland(?) as they've moved more production to China, which is a shame.  It's because most of us in the West seem to have no reservations about propping up nasty dictators as long as...
Loudspeakers have we really made that much progress since the 1930s?
Comparing speakers from the 1930's and today is like comparing fighter planes from the 1930's and today.  I really don't understand the comparison.
Modern Tannoy, are they good?
Modern Tannoy is true to their heritage and still can sound amazing depending on the price point and equipment used.  I've recently purchased some of their low budget stuff, entry level dual concentric 6 " driver based floor standers.  These speak...
KEF LS50 - new model?
What you want is the Kef R300!
Which integrated amp would you pick?
Typically a lot of this stuff is A stock.  The dealer is not allowed to officially discount many of these brands, so by calling it B stock and saying it may be a demo(like there are 50 units of demos on Audio Advisor) or a return or the cardboard ...
Elac B5 and B6??? Just another flash in the pan speaker?? or worth it
Everybody has their favorite speaker, and the problem with the internet is that fans tend to congregate and each be singing from the same songbook, so to speak.  This is also true with Andrew Jones fans. Not to say that he can't make a good speaker...
The merry go round. $700 seperates or integrated?
Those Infinity speakers most people probably aren't familiar with.  I only heard of them when researching an amp I was interested in that could do 250 wpc.  I kept reading about how this amp would go into protect and shut down when paired with Inf...
Impressed by Pangea Audio AC-9SE
Just an update on the Pangea 14SE MkII.  Recently I was experimenting with the Nad C326BEE and various stand mount speakers I've acquired.  On a whim, I swapped in the Pangea cord on the Nad, and instantly heard an improved bass response.  I was s...
Music Lovers Speaker vs. Audiophile Speaker
Sorry RBrowne, I just saw your post.  The Tannoys in question are the Revolution DC4.  They've since been upgraded to the Revolution XT Mini.  I'd like to eventually get a tower from Tannoy, and the XT line looks like the sweet spot.
Current NAD integrated amps, what are your impressions?
That reminds me, during the above experiment I had a pair of interconnects on the pre out/main in and they weren't shielded.   I was getting interference for 1 second upon start up, then quiet.  I couldn't figure it out immediately, and it made me...
Current NAD integrated amps, what are your impressions?
I thought I'd update things a little as I found the limits of the C326.  I acquired some Totem Dreamcatchers, they of the 4 ohm variety speaker.  I was experimenting with the little bookshelf because they sound so sweet and give a surprising amoun...
Speaker cables for paradigm studios
Urbanfox and nutty, it sounds like you have better than entry level RCA cabling than I had assumed, you might be fine in that department after all.
Opinion on Yamaha Amps
The A-s1000 looks to be a big step up in quality over the 801.  Less rated wattage, but 4 ohm rated, which means a beefier power supply.  But for many people I'm sure the 801 would be a worthy contender.  To be honest I've never heard a recent Yam...
