Preamp: Parasound P5 vs Rotel RC1590
I’ve got the P5 and the sub integration is flawless.  The separate crossovers for sub and speakers is elegant and really cleans up the sound when compared to a unit with no sub integration.  I’m not sure what issue the other poster had, but the su...
Audioquest Rocket 44 speaker cable. Any good??
Yeah, the quote is bang on, not sure if you agree with it or what.  The best a cable can do is do no harm to the signal. But in this “comparison” between cables you mention there are so many missing pieces to the story. And it looks like you left t...
Audioquest Rocket 44 speaker cable. Any good??
I am using the NAD as a source without the dac.  The Bifrost is converting my phone’s digital feed and I’m surprised at how good it can sound.
Morrow IC's
I guess I am an audioholic, since my last post I have upgraded no less than 3 sets of cables in my system. A stock power cable, the speaker cables(I got new Audioquest Rocket 44 biwired for over half off) and the cheap USB cable all got upgraded.A...
Audioquest Rocket 44 speaker cable. Any good??
Well that’s interesting.  I also purchased an NRG-4 and a Cinnamon USB cable for my phone to DAC, both Audioquest.  I’m impressed with what Audioquest brings to the table, though they can get quite expensive. All my IC’s are Morrow MA 3 or 5.  I lik...
Audioquest Rocket 44 speaker cable. Any good??
Well that’s the thing about speaker cable, isn’t it?  They may sound bad with some speaker/gear combos and great with others.  Glad you found something that works for you, for me the 44’s are much better than the Wireworld stuff they replaced.
Audioquest Rocket 44 speaker cable. Any good??
Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I recently acquired a pair of the rocket 44 in a 7’ biwire arrangement.  Initially they sounded very good but quickly(within a few hours of play time) became kind of dull with little detail. To which one would...
Now, I'm confused.
I too wonder about the Nad, but also how it combines with the warmish sounding Vandys.the OP is hoping for a bigger sound stage but doesn’t say anything about his cables.  Some clean open sounding speaker cables might be just the trick.  I’d sugge...
Who makes budget speaker cables which are truly “good” or “exceptional” in quality?
I've currently got speaker cables from Wireworld, Totem Acoustics and Audioquest.(IC's from Morrow, bluejean and Signal Cable)  Originally when I discovered the benefits of good cables I gravitated towards the smaller internet direct companies, th...
power cables where do I start?
A couple of years ago I bought my first power cable, a Pangea 14 something or other. I put it on my cd player and heard little difference.  I posted my disappointment on this forum, and was told that one would need power cables on all components i...
Looking at sub $200 power cables.
Dave, all that proves is that the Shunyata stuff(you seem to suggest that you tried every single power cord model they make, or at least paint them all with the same result you got from the single model you tried) doesn't work well with YOUR SYSTE...
Morrow IC's
I'll put this here because I've made several posts already, and it is a Morrow thread(hope that's ok will62)  My system has started sounding freaking incredible, and I think Morrow cables are the reason.About 2 weeks ago when I added a shelf to my...
Home audio system recommendations
I doubt that any specific speaker will have the specific eq curve that the OP has outlined. The only way to achieve this will be with an equalizer in the loop. Either that or just buy the best Magnepan models when time comes to upgrade the speaker...
Morrow IC's
I agree that detail is king in our hobby.  It's what creates the superior sound stage, imaging and realism in what we hear.  It's all about doing no harm to the signal, and everything affects the signal unfortunately.
Be Careful!
mg16, I think the chassis being grounded is going to be what shunts the static shock from your body, creating the shock.  It's the same concept as touching the screw on the switch cover plate on the wall.Up here in the northwest, real cold weather...
