New Cu foil caps: Miflex
They are quite huge, btw, especially the bigger values, e.g. 2.2uF, 3.3uF
New Cu foil caps: Miflex
I’m wary of using bypass caps, especially in the signal path. Two parallel uneven paths of travel, wouldn’t that lead to some sort of smearing or slight phase issues with the sound? I dunno, never tried it.

I haven’t heard them yet, but based on HumbleHomemadeHIFI’s review, they rated the Miflex a 13+.  My baselines are the excellent Intertechnik Audyn True Copper Max caps (12.5 rating) and the Jupiter Copper foil paper and wax caps (13.5 rating), so...
Another new DAC: Audio Mirror
@emil according to @musichead it's a 2A, slo-blo, small (5x20mm); looks like it might be placed in the cavity in (above) the AC IEC, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

@lpretiring - I can answer this for you, since I had this exact email exchange with Vlad about the very same thing, as it is my concern as well. With the stock tubes (the two pairs of sub-miniature 5977 tubes, which incidentally have a pair instal...

@emil  Thanks! I found that after I posted the question.Has anyone compared this AM T3 to a Metrum Onyx, which is what I have. I think it’s an excellent DAC and I love it, but having a tubed DAC is something I’m considering as well.

Just wanted to share that I got a new reviewing gig with Six Moons.com website
Congrats Teajay! I look forward to reading your future reviews at 6Moons! You haven’t steered me wrong yet, as I have built my system with some of the gear that you have reviewed very highly, e.g. a Backert Rhumba preamp, Tekton Impact monitors (a...

Tekton Design's new THE PERFECT SET equals "goosebumps time"
@roadwarrior75 We did not at Teajay's house.  As Bon mentioned, they were powered by Threshold amps.  Both systems had tubed preamps (both LTA) though, and in concert with the SS amps, the matching was ideal on both systems.I've heard our Impact M...

Metrum Onyx versus Metrum Pavane
@justjames72 …. I've had great success using a Gustard U16 to convert from my laptops USB output to the AES/EBU input on my Onyx. Before that, I used a Matrix X-SPDIF2 powered by an Uptone LPS1.2, and that worked great too, but I think the U16 its...
