Cary vs Raven @ghdprentice is spot on. I got my speakers and am now adjusting/upgrading electronics to match my taste in music and the speakers. IMO, it is much easier to swap out an amp or preamp then speakers given the cost and size. And less expensive, at...
New streamer @evank Just the opposite, I said I have an open mind and that I don't understand, from a technical standpoint, why it would sound different. There are lots of things I don't understand from a technical standpoint. : )
New streamer @signaforce I feel the same as you. I think my system sounds amazing with the Node and I don't understand, from a technical standpoint, how a different streamer will improve the sound. That being said I will eventually try one so my and I can ju...
New streamer @signaforce I am one of many interested in your honest impressions of the N150 in comparison to your Node. Some people notice a difference and others don’t probably due in part to all the other variable.
Revel Salon2s: Seeking Advice IMO, these speakers are both great, but as others have said, are voiced differently. I think you would really need to listen to them. I don't think they will sound the same so you want to decide which you personally prefer.
Ipad pro + Ethymotic Er4 SR, brilliant I am not sure of the exact configuration you used, but the DAC/Amp is, IMO, in the dongle that connects to the IPAD. I recall it was tested on a respected web site and it measured very well.
CODA #16 vs Benchmark AHB2 | Yamaha NS500 Speaker Thanks for posting. I have an AHB2 and the DAC3 and I find others impressions interesting as I chart out my upgrade path. For what it is and what it costs, the AHB2 is pretty amazing. I am not suggesting it the best amp ever. The fact that you...
Pass Labs Mono Block Question Thanks.
Another post about a streamer upgrade You don't have to jump so far up the Aurender line. The N150 would be entry point if you are shopping based on cost to an upper level streamer brand. I think if you shop around, you will find a dealer willing to discount. I suggest shopping use...
Eliminated my preamp with amazing results Be very careful with the volume control setting in the software. It is easy to have it set to max for another application or have a separate software/operating system set it to high, and then if you don't catch it, and switch to music, it can ris...
What is meant exactly by the description 'more musical'? My summary of this thread is that the term ’musical’ is not a good term to describe sound or equipment characteristics. It appears to have multiple different means to different people.
Hearing problems and speaker upgrade New speakers will sound better if you buy the right speaker - an upgrade. You will never be young again, but given your current hearing status, new speakers will sound better then your old speakers, and yes, I think you will hear the difference -...
Rhythmic F12SE setup using line in I concur with @audiorusty. When I had my F12s in my system, I found the sound better when I plugged the ports on my speakers, moved the speakers away from the wall, turned up the gain on the sub and turned down the cross over on the sub.
How good is good enough? I have stopped thinking of things as good and bad. I just try to enjoy. All the speakers are good. All the amps sound good. Just different flavors of good. Now it is just trying different things and enjoying the sound of a different amp or...
Help me spend $100,000 on a new system @mahgister I always enjoy your posts and find them insightful. @skyscraper Congrats. It is hard for others to build your system because it depends on the type of sound you like and the music you listen to. Big money can be spent on a system that... |
