Wow, I just checked out the Valerie Joyce link - this woman's got pipes(and hot, too)!!

Also check out her(Cassandra, that is) collaboration with Jacky Terrasson on "Rendezvous". Gret recording, great stuff.

Yep, Rendezvous is great. But if you are into Jazz females, Shirley Horn is the outstanding singer of our age, head and shoulders, no question. This woman stands amongst Ella, Sarah and Billie and adds to that some of the best jazz piano around. If her sound had more of a modern edge to it she would be commercially a giant - instead she is merely artistically a giant.

Seems like an interesting recording. I'll check it out.
