I am not a fan of Diana or Patricia, but I love some of Cassandra's better work - Blue Light Til Dawn, Mew Moon Daughter, parts of Traveling Miles.
Don't know what's going on with the new one - Thunderbird. "Easy Rider" and "Poet" are killer tunes, but the rest is not up to that level. Keb Mo' crushes slide guitar on "Easy Rider", the sng simply kicks ass.
Yep, Rendezvous is great. But if you are into Jazz females, Shirley Horn is the outstanding singer of our age, head and shoulders, no question. This woman stands amongst Ella, Sarah and Billie and adds to that some of the best jazz piano around. If her sound had more of a modern edge to it she would be commercially a giant - instead she is merely artistically a giant.
