Easy Come Easy Go…….BOOM!

Gentleman, consider a lightning protection system for your home..You can bet my rebuild will have a very good one.

National Weather Service recorded a 63,000 amp strike on my property.

Full replacement value. Starting over

We all got out safe

Just Wow! Glad you are all safe. Like you said, it’s just stuff, but still sad . Did your music collection survive ?

Note to self :  Don't buy any used gear from Nick...

Wow! Reminds me of why I left Pensacola. We got hit by three major hurricanes in our 16 years there. Never again. The good thing about your event, it is likely to never hit you again in the same house. Wishing you good recovery.

I live in an area with frequent thunder storms and hail. Had to replace our roof last year. I am in the habit of unplugging my power conditioner when a storm is expected of course what happened here it would have mattered little what was unplugged. Hope you are back home soon.

Nick where do you live? Your profile pic looks like the desert southwest but someone above mentioned Pensacola. I cannot believe how the bases of your B&Ws just burned off! Thankful you and your family and pets are all fine.

for those of you who didn’t go to the photo on OP’s facebook site

Glad you and yours were all uninjured. Maybe scarred for life at the sound and sight of distant lightning.

That looks like a direct strike, must have been LOUD! And the smell of all that melting plastic. Thank goodness you have good insurance. Have fun picking out new stuff.

Did you ever take a walk after a big storm, come across a tree that took a direct hit, the smell of burning wood is memorable, bark, and damp inner wood cracked open.
