Need an amp upgrade suggestion..... But not the usual upgrade request :-)

I am looking to upgrade my amp.  I want to avoid some of the back and forth so here are the details:

Room-14x16 some acoutsic treatment

Speakers B&W 705S2

Gustard R26 R2R DAC (Plenty of gain to drive w/out a pre amp) (No physical media)

2x REL T/5x subs

I like some volume as I am partially hearing deficient.  (just old)

I would prefer something mainstream and not some obscure brand wise.

What say the pros?

Ah thought I forgot :-) Budget is $4K USD.

Thanks in advance!!

Van Alstine should fit the bill. My friend is using the DVA SET 500 with his Harbeths and he is very happy with it!

The only logical reason to change amps is your present amp clips when you reach the preferred listening level with your speakers. SS amps have been transparent to the source for decades now. The belief that SS amps have a "character" is mistaken. If you desire an amp as a tone control buy a tube amp. .

@jasonbourne71 most solid state amps do clip on transients, it might not be up to 1% but with solid state very low levels of high harmonic distortion can be heard by the human ear.

The older, pre Class D amps from Primare mate really well with B&W speakers. Ayre is another good choice for B&W.
