Power Cord for PS Audio Power Plant Premier?

I recently replaced my power conditioner with a PS Audio PPP. The old unit's cable had the 20A connector, so I installed the PPP with a PS Audio Statement PC expecting some synergy. While much better than the old conditioner in terms of definition, extension, and "Hi-Fi" characteristics, with the combo there is an emphasis on upper mid/low treble that does not wear well. I tried a JPS Power AC, much richer lower mids and musical flow, but rather dark on top. The PSA cord may just have a long burn-in, but I'm curious what others might have found specifically complements the PPP - or not. Say under $1000 for the sake of argument.

Dedicated 15A AC line, but plenty of compact fluorescent bulbs and a few dimmers in the house. Current demands are low - SACD/CDP, TT, phono stage, passive pre, Bel Canto Class D 150 wpc monoblocks.

I don’t have many aftermarket power cords left, but tried out an old PSAudio 12 gauge Lab cable, Wireworld Aurora, and a Cardas Golden Cross.

None improved things overall over the stock power cord, but in the interest of adequate gauge and ease of use, I’ve been making my own power cables , 4TC for source components, and 8TC for some class A smallish power amplifiers and a thousand watt plate amplifier for bass.

With some 8TC I made a 3 metre power cable for the Powerplant, and it’s doing something I never came across before- good stuff got better and the mundane stayed that way.

If the issues you’re describing started with the introduction of PS Audio PP into the system and you have given the PP and the cable more than 200hrs to break in, try to get a baseline using a regular 14awg stock power cord. If that character you’re describing remains, then there’s most likely no synergy with the PP in your system.

If you want to try different power cords when it’s all burned in, for a well balanced cables try Audience AU24SE HP, Audioquest Thunder or Tornado, Purist, Shunyata, Nordost Heimdall 2.

I have a Shunyata Delta—improved sound stage, openness, and clarity by a lot
